Both engines have the early Ford WW2 dipstick, one engine has the pad on the side where the serial number is stamped on a WW2 engine although it has a later civilian ribbed head. One engine has a smooth non ribbed head although the early cj’s had a smooth head and it also has the early Ford WW2 dipstick. They both could be WW2 blocks.
Just the bolt on parts are worth it

Just did, he says he has an engine but he wants 1,500. Whereas I could get another Jeep, or a new casting for that.
Sorry that didn’t work out. Way overpriced for sure unless it’s been fully rebuilt.
