    Familiar wagon, it’s been listed before, about a year and a half two years ago, also with a New Jersey location.

    Serial number indicates it is probably an early 1962, 4cyl, 2WD Maverick, my list shows only through 1961 and the 61 serial numbers for that model end with 16422.

    Colin, Thanks for the background information, confirms what I thought. It could be a typo, but I’m always amazed that sellers don’t know what they are selling. All in all, it is a nice wagon although somewhat priced too high.

    Been for sale for a long time, price keeps going up, you would think the price would go down to attract buyers. I just don’t understand today’s marketing strategy.

    I don’t understand the strategy either. Now, there are some interesting Harvard business cases that discuss the importance to pricing in terms of perception of quality. In those cases, a rise in price resulted in increased sales. However, those were new items in new markets. This jeep is a whole other can of beans.
