Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This November 04, 1948, article out of the Saline Observer, discussed a local agriculture demonstration and noted how jeeps were some of the stars of the show.

Really glad to see this article. I have a reproduction booklet “A Report on The Universal ‘Jeep’ in Conservation” that details the event which took place September 23-24, 1948 and featured the “new” Monroe Lift and Newgren implements. It is titled inside the cover “A Report Prepared By Willys-Overland In The Interest And For the Advancement Of Soil Conservation.”
I’ll try to get it scanned and posted.
