Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. As of December 1946, Wyoming County Schools in West Virginia still had 52 one-room schools attended by 1200 students. To serve and maintain those schools throughout the year, the county purchased a CJ-2A.

“CJ3B high hood flat fender. Original 4 cylinder replaced with 6 cylinder 1978 Maverick engine (200 cube, 120 horsepower). Has new windshield, just did not get installed before pictures were taken. WARNE free wheeling hubs WARNE overdrive 11″ Wagoneer brakes. Many other modifications Also includes new bikini top, spare tire Jerry can carrier, extra molded plastic seats, tow bar. Very recently tuned up also new oil and filter. Runs GREAT.”
Jay’s got this update MB for sale. It has a Warn OD, plus other updates. The engine does not currently run.

“I have Two Willys JEEPSTER projects both are 1950. I have enough parts to build both vehicles. These are two door four seat convertibles (Phaeton) style vehicles. These are very nice custom builder projects with pallets of spare parts. One body is on a highly modified original frame with four wheel independent suspension and four wheel disk brakes. The other body does not include a frame and can easily be fit to a Toyota Four Runner chassis or something similar. A zero time Mercedes-Benz 300 Turbo diesel engine and transmission are available at an extra cost.”
There’s a CJ-5 full cage, among other parts.

“For sale or trade is a 1947 Willy’s CJ2A Jeep. The motor was taken out for a conversion before I bought it. All body parts are there as is the transmission and transfer case. I also have an adapter plate for T90 transmission to a small block Chevy. Will consider partial trade for Hodaka motorcycles and parts.”

“This is a CJ2A tub in overall very decent, solid condition. The previous owner had it sandblasted and started replacing rusted panels and supports…then let it sit outside for some time. The rust you see is mainly surface rust from sitting. The tool box has already been removed (and is gone), so this would be an ideal tub to stretch for a rock crawler project. Rear floor and wheel wells are in very good condition. The dash has not been all cut-up for extra gauges, radio, speakers, etc.”
