A snow blower attachment is rare indeed, the son of an old now defunct Jeep dealership in Franklin , NJ has one of these mounted on a Gladiator pick up, one of many vintage Jeep vehicles taken on trade in decades ago.
What is that in front of the rear wheels inside the frame? I see a driveline up front. Is the blower powered with a pto or is that an auxiliary engine?
That is a Chrysler Slant 6 motor under there with a 904 automatic transmission.
I came across another machine powered by a Chrysler engine in the bed. Was this arrangement marketed or homegrown? The clearance under its belly looks a bit slim. Either way, interesting machine.
Good question. I haven’t run across anything describing a Chrysler engine as a power plant, but I haven’t been looking for it either. A quick search suggests that Hobart used Chrysler engines for welders and generators, similar to the way Willys were used. So, it’s plausible that Chrysler could have marketed its engines to the industrial market.
