Looks professional…very symmetrical.
Wonder if it was chrome plated?
The headlight curves and flat bars gives it a military slat grille look.
As you say, wonder if its dealer installed factory, dealer installed aftermarket or mail order..JC Whitney, Montgomery Ward, Sears, or Western Auto?
If it’s a factory dealer installed piece, the price might be close.
I see lots of Jeepsters, but few have factory correct restorations with that level of detail to warrant that kind of price.

I’ve seen a number of these listed as Willys grille guards, but they were for the jailbar style Ford trucks from the early 1940’s.
I think this is a nice job of fabrication, all of those bends could have been done on a Hossfeld or similar bender by a competent welder/fabricator/blacksmith. All in all, I’d call it a nice contemporary aftermarket accessory ,
sure it’s nice but not $1000 nice. maybe 100 bucks.
