Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is a mix of parts.
“Time to sell my beloved project “Hatari”, I just can’t work on her anymore. What you are looking at is registered as a 1946 Willy’s Jeep, it is an early flat fender MJ body on what appears to be a later model (longer) frame probably from a 1955-1965 CJ or MJ? I have upgraded the brakes to 11″ in the front and 10″ in the back, she runs and drives. Does she have rust, you might ask? YES! which is why she’s strategically surrounded by a ‘beautifully’ crafted aluminum diamond plate to hold her together. Is she beautiful you may ask? Absolutely! She is painted in an safari theme zebra camoflauge, but perhaps your idea of beauty is different than mine 🙂 Does she still need some work? “Perhaps” 🙂 She runs and drives, I have a clear pink slip, but she is yet to be registered. Drivetrain is a 134 ‘F’ Head 4 cylinder motor and full four wheel drive is of course all operational, 3 speed manual transmission. Make an offer in cash $$ or perhaps we can negotiate a trade in part or full for either a twin axle trailer or a good pre-71 VW Standard Beetle.”

“so here it is guys im in the processes of buying a new jeep this week and am not desperate at all to sell this piece of art but would like some extra money for the new jeep build.
This willys is part fully restored with a fun twist of course.

Runs and drives.
“1970 Jeep CJ5. 225 V6, 3-speed Trans, tow bar, spare tire rack, warn hubs, soft top, roll bar.
Runs and has new battery. Seats need to be reupholstered. Body needs some work. Good hunting vehicle or project vehicle. $1,400”
UPDATE: This appears to have sold. Was listed at $600.
“Just traded a 1948 bantam jeep trailer, but didn’t fit my needs. Descent shape, some rust in bed, pintle hitch, great tires, pulls great. Titled with perm plate. $600.”
It doesn’t run, but appears solid.
“1955 Willys $3,000 OBO
All of the original drive train is intact. The tub is in decent shape for the age with all the glass. Some one in the past put a body on it but according to the serial number it was not manufactured with one. The interior has some seats but thats about it. I put a battery in it and the fuel pump comes on but I cant figure out how to get the engine to turn over. Some one with a bit more mechanical know how can get it going without much work. It was last registered in 2006 and I assume that was the last time it ran. You will need a trailer to get it home so be prepared.
It will make a great trail rig or use it for parts.
I have the title and need to get it out of the garage (the wife is in full revolt about not parking in the garage)

“Needs a lot of work and I don’t need 2 not sure what it is the guy I got it from said it was a 42 MB but has a nevada plate so you can figure out thru that this needs full resto floor pans ceise to exist for the most part
What it has: fenders, motor that’s no good been told it could be rebuilt but I have no clue ( must take it as I have no cherry picker) 4 wheels, 2 tires that hold air, Separated body tub, hood
For the right price: fuel injected ford v8, transmission with extra housing, power steering set up”

(11/17/2013) This has some unusual mods.
“This is a 1948 Willey’s Jeep, runs good (but does need new shocks, yes they had shocks back in 1948). Has been used as a hunting jeep. The four wheel drive does work good.
My son is going to kill me for selling this – please serious inquiries only – if you just want to look just drive by, but if you are serious please give me a call or text.”

(10/31/2013) The F-head install has a slightly different look.
“I have a 1948 Jeep Willys for sale. Runs and drives great/ The motor has been swapped out with a CJ-3B. 3 speed manual transmission. Manual 4WD hi and low. Full tune up done, New radiator, hoses, and thermostat. It has a new fuel tank, New 2.5″ Rancho suspension lift all the way around. Exhaust has been replaces. Just painted in light green primer.”
