Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. One his way through Cuba, New Mexico, Don stopped at a Mexican restaurant called the Cuban Cafe. He recommends the food. The owners are Margie and Bob. Margie drives a 1972 CJ-5 that belonged to her father.
After Cuba, Don drove to the Durango, Colorado, area. He’s had his eye on this M-38, but the seller won’t sell it. The jeep continues to sit outside in the weather.
This show a couple of fallen soldiers next to the jeep.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3250.
No pics of the engine, but the seller notes it is an L-head rather than an f-head.
“For Sale is a 1953 Willy’s CJ-3B. It is not totally original. Hood and tailgate are aftermarket. Engine is a L-Head. I have had the vehicle for many years with the intention of restoring it. The Jeep is titled in NC and runs good. This was a project vehicle and I have well over $4200.00 invested. The Jeep has new wiring, tires, pressure plate, clutch, shocks, brakes, master cylinder and lines, gas tank, drive shafts, yokes, seals, gauges, tail lights and much more. The body is in good condition for the age with some areas of rust. The manual lockout 4WD is absolutely awesome. The engine is very strong.”

I felt this ad was worth a comment. New Body Tub?? Huh?? Excellent condition?? What about those fenders??

One of the Rarest Jeeps Made
Up for auction is my 1971 Hurst Jeepster Commando. I purchased this 5 years ago with plans to do a frame up restore, but unfortunately have not had the time to begin the restoration. My loss, your gain.
I have not attempted to start the motor, but the previous owner stated that it will run. I have no reason to think otherwise.
Vehicle has all emblems, special build tags, and Hurst options.
Shouldn’t take much to get it back on the road, or restore as an investment.
Not just a rare vehicle, but also in a rare unmolested state.”
