Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “A Vintage 1950s Ideal Roy Rogers Fix-It Chuck Wagon & Jeep in the Original Box. Set in near complete. Contents and condition are as follows: the box, measuring about 24 inches by 8 inches by 4 ½ inches, is in nice condition with a little warping on the lid and some water stains at various places. The chuck wagon, jeep and all figures and accessories are in excellent undamaged condition (the right front wheel has a hairline crack that runs halfway through it, but you can barely see it and it work fine). Please see photo for contents of lot—accessories look complete except there is no triangle or bar for the jack. The rear tail gate, which has some fragile clasps, is undamaged and does fold down. Please see photos for condition and also ask questions if anything is unclear.”

This is a 1946 Menu from the Benjamin Franklin Hotel that has jeeps on it. Here’s another one.
“A Dinner Menu from the Coral Cafe in the Benjamin Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from January 6, 1946 . The cover of the menu features one of series of paintings of the JEEP. This is BORN IN WAR by James Sessions for the Willys Overland Motors, the builders of the Jeep. The menu is in fine condition, has been folded. Measures about 9″ x 12″ when closed.”

“Fully Restored M38 1951 military Willys jeep. All original with 24 Volt and 60 h.p. flat head 4 cyl engine. Complete with canvas top. This is a Korean War jeep, the last flat fender jeep for the military. Served in Army up to the Vietnam war. Everything works on this jeep and there is no rust or corrosion. Clear Texas title and licensed in Texas as Former Military Vehicle (antique license). Parade or Car show ready”
This is missing a few details, but looks solid.
“M38 Willy’s Jeep. Original condition and motor with 24V system. Has fording kit minus the snorkel and extended exhaust. Runs good, has the civilian Willy’s fuel pump, but I do have a military version that needs to be rebuilt. I have a Beachwood canvas top and original doors and side curtains. (10/10/2010) This looks this has been put to use.
“1962 willys jeep fc170. The jeep just came from Arizona. I was going to restore it but a different opportunity came along.
It has not run in about three years. It has a pto winch and a mico brake lock system, not sure how it works but looks like its factory
installed. There is some rust through the driver’s side floor but is small and should be an easy fix. The rest of the cab is very solid.
The bed is in fairly good shape. There is some rust through the floor in the front, not big at all, about 12″x12″. The rest of the bed looks good, despite a a few small dents, but is very solid. All the id plates are still there. The brakes do not work. The clutch appears to work.
It needs a driver’s side window and windshield is cracked. The jeep needs to be restored and gone through to make it road worthy.
It would be a fun project for the right person; these jeeps are getting hard to find without being rotted beyond repair.
The jeep has been on the west coast. This is the first time it has been on the east coast. It is stored in a 20′ shipping container on my property so its out of the weather.”

It seems to be a solid jeep.
“I have for sale a CJ2A dressed up to look like a military Jeep. It has leather seats front and rear instead of canvas, five gallon jerry can, british siren, military looking axe, mounted fire extinguisher, and a fifty caliber ammo can for a console. The vehicle is converted to twelve volt, has new contact points, spark plugs, coil, distributor cap, and starter bendix. It starts very well, runs like a champ, four wheel drive works well, low and high range works as well. It has a custom made canvas top. It is an attention getter, and would be great for parades, or car.”
Not perfect, but looks solid.
