Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (09/02/2012) They broke the mold after creating this one. It includes a capstan winch.

On the front bumper is an engine driven capstan winch, go online to “willy’s capstan winch kit” and you will see that this item alone sells for $3250.00 plus shipping. Also comes with an aluminum bolt on roof with two aluminum doors and an A-frame rig that bolts to the front bumper for pulling stumps and whatever. If you want to have a jeep that nobody else has, respond to this ad. I’ve had many people look at this jeep and they all agree that it appears to be made this way by the factory. UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800.
The seller lists this as a M-38A1, but it looks like a CJ-5 to me. Given the bumper, I wonder if this wasn’t a service station jeep at some point. Here’s another example of the same bumper.

I ran across this unusual travel opportunity tonight. A german company is organizing a rally around the country of Cambodia in February of 2013. I have emailed them for more information. Based on the pictures, the ‘old jeeps’ may be m151s rather than Willys.

This wagon has Dan stumped. He writes, “I am stumped what this 1955 wagon is. It has the grill, gauges, etc. of a 1950s wagon, but the panel doors of a Parkway Conversion BUT the sliding windows of a regular wagon. It also is 2×4. If it were a 1960s wagon, I’d chalk it up to WIllys end-of-the-run production variances. Maybe it’s just a special order.”
“1955 Willys Station Wagon. This wagon has a very solid body, body and paint completed 12 months ago. It has a mustang front end which means disc breaks and easy steering.
The engine is a Mopar wide block Polly head 318 with 10.5 to 1 compression ratio,
It runs strong, it was probably out of a 1970 truck. 2 barrel carb for good gas mileage. Not sure what the rear gears are but it cruises fine on the Highway.
Automatic transmission, 747, which was rebuilt two thousand miles ago.
It has very rare ambulance back doors so it is easy to load.
For the last nine years I have enjoyed driving her as a daily driver.
I am asking $14,000”

I did some searches for Einar Lodahl, but only found an arena in Gilette named for him.
“Up for bids a 1 1/2″x 4” empty front striker matchbook from a 1950s Era Texaco Gas service station in Gillette, Wyoming and Jeep-Willys car dealer that used Havoline Motor Oil too-The RWB matchbook reads: “Hi-Way Service Willys-Jeeps Einar Lodahl Gillette, Wyoming” on front and pictures a can of Havoline motor oil with slogan: “Best Motor Oil your money can buy! Havoline Motor Oil Wear-Proofs Engines for longer life” on back-Inside is blank-Striker intact-Nice vintage item with only light wear.”
This is an interesting ad that uses the jeep in co-promotion with W/O’s automobiles. The Jeep in the ad appears to be a Slat Grille. I wish the seller had mentioned the date of the newspaper, too.
