Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Looks like a good price for this former City of New Haven hardtop.
“I have what seems to be a New Haven CT highway dept. or DPW jeep hard top and doors as well as a hood, tailgate, windshield frame and grill. the hardtop is in decent shape, all of the glass is perfect accept for a one of the small rear windows. The hard doors have glass intact and crank up and down. The windshield frame is in very good condition but the glass is cracked in the middle. the top has roof rails and an orange flasher on top.”

Maury shared this rare lift for auction on eBay.
“You are bidding on a vintage NEWGREN (LOVE) under body rear hitch for Willys Jeep CJ Models. It was removed from a 1946 cj2a with column shift, so I know it is an early version of this lift. A little rusty and crusty, but still there for restoration or duplication. These are very rare to find so this may be once in a lifetime find for the avid collector. Listing is for local pickup, but I will aid in shipping and banding to pallet if you are handling a truck freight option. Feel free to email any questions. – Firewall is in great solid shape. Comes with speedometer, heater core and parking brake (whatever is seen in pitcures)
– The rear cargo floor is completely solid and could make a nice patch for someone’s who’s is rotted

“This is a complete arctic cover for the Willys M38 Jeep. Other than dirty and a bit dusty, it is all there. The top has no dents or dings, doors are complete as are side panels and rear panel. New glass needed for one of the rear panels. Windshield glass frame is corroded. Here is a chance to get the complete package. These are getting harder to come by, especially when fully complete and original.”
