UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This jeep was featured yesterday at Road & Track, because it is supposedly a one-owner jeep with only 35k miles. It’s being sold by an outfit that seems to specialize in auto sales out of the Boise area. Given they specialize in auto sales, and given it’s a one owner vehicle, I would think they’d get the VIN number at least close. Instead, they have a strange VIN of 8804255829, which means a person probably couldn’t track the history of the jeep if they wanted. It’s hard for me to believe there isn’t a VIN plate still on this jeep (if it truly is an unmolested, original jeep). After all, it looks like the original gusset is still there. I can’t help think I’ve seen this jeep before, especially the oddly shaped (bent) passenger side fender. Anyone else have thoughts?
Here’s an example of a CJ-3B the same seller tried to sell on ebay with “original matching numbers”, but with an incorrect VIN of 34501. That VIN (which is missing the prefix of 57348) would be for a 1957. You’ll note the speedometer is a post 55 unit as well. The same cutesy tools are attached to the sides like they did with the 2A below.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4700.

Please contact via phone as email is checked infrequently.”
I see no signs it is a 1945 (either a CJ or a MB/GPW). Maybe the body is a replacement body of some type?

(11/03/2013) “1946 willys cj2a. this is the first year a civilian jeep was available for sale. it runs and drives perfectly, has a 2.5″ suspension lift with 53 willys f head motor. tub is in very good condition for its age with no rot and frame has been reinforced (not because of rust). it has a recent head gasket, alternator, distributor and other small things. I also have brush guard, roll bar and new bikini top for it. possible trades or partial trade for pretty much anything, especially guns, Toyota trucks and jeeps”
UPDATE: Was priced at $700. **SOLD**
This is a mix of parts. Hard to tell how much value is here.
“To 1947 Jeep all together missing seats front bumper radiator does not run.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
(09/21/2013) This has a fiberglass body. It doesn’t run at the moment. Lots of pics, but very dark.
“1946 Willys Jeep, with original flat head motor, 5 early style riveted wheels, after market soft top, wipers, electric fuel pump, defroster fan, and directional switch with lights and Selectro locking hubs. Just out of a lengthy 8 year garaged storage, after being a 3 season driver. Currently the engine turns over, but has not been started, should run with out too much effort. The last owner did a nice job of putting a fiberglass tub on the jeep, and the soft top and doors. Although the brake lines look new the brakes are currently not working. The frame has rust, and though it was on the road before storage I think some patches would be needed to strengthen it, but it is 1946 so in NH it dosen’t need to be inspected if registered as an antique and only driven to shows. Worth the price for the tub and wheels alone, not to mention the hubs and drive train. $2000 cash in person, no shipping. Listing for the owner who dose not have email. If interested send a serious email and I will send the owners name and address.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $9500.
(10/24/2013) No pics provided.
