Doing some hub research today I ran across images of “Big Red“, the CJ-2A that lives in the Clackamas, Oregon, facility of Warn Industries. It’s a beautiful looking jeep that I plan to visit one of these days.
If you haven’t been to the Warn website, stop by the history page and check out the picture of the two odd jeeps taken early in Warn’s history when the shop was located in Seattle. I contacted Warn about the photos, but they couldn’t provide any additional information about the jeeps. I’ve never seen the body and frame modifications like those any where else. It looks like it turned CJ-2As into a truck.

This looks pretty stock, but has plenty of rust, too. Mostly surface rust?

“I have a 1946 Willys jeep that I disassembled years ago and started to restore. This is pretty much a complete jeep, including seats, fenders, grill, windshield, as well as some extra parts (tire chains, etc). The price includes over $600 worth of new parts I had planned to use (new brake master cylinder, new gas tank, new wiper motor, new front bumper, and several other parts). Call me at 715-281-2434 if you would like more information.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6900.
Here’s a nice CJ-2A with a rear PTO.
“Excellent condition, power takeoff, runs GREAT!!! Rare find! Thanks for looking!”
This might be worth a look.
“This was a project, totally rebuilt by my husband. Sadly he doesnt drive it anymore and it really deserves more dignity than sitting in the driveway. It will run, needs one part replaced (I believe an oil filter but my husband can give you ALL specs on this gem). All work done by my husband, who is a mechanic by trade.
If interested in more information about the jeep, respond to this post and he will get back with you. This jeep is located in Alexandria, Va.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000
Isn’t the front bumper mounted upside down? Not that it is a big deal, but just wondering.
“This 1946 jeep has to be seen to be appreciated. It has had everything replaced from wiring to brake lines. The emergency brake has been completely rebuilt and has the original 134 engine that has also been rebuilt. All new gauges, fuel tank ,fuellines, lights, tires, and rhino lined under and inside. It also has a roll bar. The upholestry needs to be replaced but I have a place in Texas that does the original front and rear. You really must see this to appreciate. ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.

“1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. Runs great. Body rebuilt by the Sears Oil Company in Rome, New York using heavy gauge steel. Plow included and the all brakes work. It has been converted to 12 volt system. This Jeep was used by Rome Memorial Hospital in the 2012 Honor American Day Parade that is why is it painted on Military colors. I am asking $2000.00 and at that price I am breaking even on what I have into it so the price is firm.”
