About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
There’s some value here. The desert dogs are on some nice old steel wheels.
“1948 Jeep Flat Fender. Jeep in poor condition, frame and axles are good, grill and hood are good, has early fifties military hood with snorkel cutout. No engine or trans, I have a few other misc parts too, windshield frame that is in good shape, military fuel tank. Call for details. 630-624-4242 Matt.”
This is a project and is apart. The images show the jeep prior to disassembly.
“This is a project vehicle, currently in pieces on rolling chassis. Rare early transition CJ, #6,639 off the assembly line. Has steering column mounted gear shift, only the first 20,000 CJ’s had this. Also, pioneer tool body indents carried over from the military Jeeps and eliminated shortly after this serial #. The Jeep is 85% complete with original equipment including 3 of the original Goodyear tires. Missing items are back seat (if it came with one), combo coil/ignition switch that was under the dash on early CJ’s, original NACO tail light, gas tank, side mirror and top bows. I think it has an original early style under dash heater (in a box?) …”
“1946 Jeep Willys CJ2A- Body, frame and motor original and matching. $1,200 obo. Original spare rim and tire as well as lots of extra parts like transmission, drive shafts, grill, lights, dash panel, electronics, etc. Tires in great shape. Great for a restoration project. Parts and price lists come with sale. Also original service manual.”
This looks like it will make a good restoration project.
“I have a early 46 column shift with tool indents. It also has rear pto, hydrolics, new green hitch, solid disc wheels, front bumper weight, govoner, 26,654 original miles, very little rust, few dents and dings, all numbers match up, 17463 serial number, windshield is the only thing that is rusted bad. This jeep came from factory with all of the bells and whistles. bought it 5 years ago to restore but dont have time to restore so need to sell. I did tear it down quite a way, the motor, tranny, transfercase, have all been pulled out. The axles are still in place and have never been touched. I took pictures of everything and kept every bolt, nut, washer and more. I also have pictures of everything i have done to date. If you have more questions contact me through my email …..”
I can’t tell how solid this is, but with a serial number of #12201 and matching numbers, this might be a good find for someone.
“1946 CJ2A, serial #12201. 2201st ever produced for civilian use. Built in January ’46, all original, body, frame, and engine numbers match. I even have the original dash plates! Ready for restoration! Breaks my heart to sell but times are hard and I need the cash. $1800. Serious replies only. 615-948-8656 ask for Dave.”

WE ARE WILLING TO PAY A DAILY WAGE TO THE PERSON THAT CAN TRUELY ASSIST WITH THIS PROJECT. THE MOTOR IS A ( 4-134 L HEAD MOTOR (463). IT HAS A 1-BARREL CARBURETOR. IT HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO 12V. MY #541-490-4387.”
(04/15/2010) It runs and has the F-head racing scoop.
“Selling a 48 Jeep willys runs good has some new wiring and electronic ignition. Great deer lease jeep starts good in the cold. Needs to have the transmission rebuilt and a new battery.”
You can see the front clip has been lengthened to fit the later model CJ frame. The fenders were lengthened, but I can’t tell where; however, the extension of the hood is pretty obvious. It now occurs to me that there might be a small market for lengthened flattie fenders and flattie hoods to make this modification easier for builders. Creating fiberglass molds would not be too difficult.
“1948 Willys Jeep in excellent condition. Fully restored by previous owner. 1948 tub mounted on a 1976 CJ5 frame with an AMC 304 V8, T150 trans, Dana 20 transfer case. The jeep is titled as a 1948, and the clear title is in hand. Had some ignition problems when I bought it, but it has been painstakingly sorted out, and runs great. New superswamper 33×10.5 tires on it. Lots new on this jeep (too much to list on here). Serious inquiries only please”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
I’m pretty sure this is a fiberglass body. ACME continues to sell fiberglass, metal and aluminum flattie bodies, as noted below.
“This was a project that never got finished. It has a Buick 231/ turbo 350/ Spicer18/ dana44 with 5/38 gearing/ Summer brothers axils/ aluminum wheels. The body (tub, front fenders, and grill) is an acme with minimum rust. Also comes with a two piece windshield and extra grill (small headlight), windshield wipers, extra u-joints and back seat Asking 2000.00 or best offer.”
“Awesome little jeep for sale. All original except nice wheels and tires. Has a 3000 pound winch added on the front bumper as well. Origninal motor in it. Looks great, drives great, just a really cool jeep all the way around. Hate to sell it, but just don’t need it.”
Dave let me know that this VEC is for sale over at the CJ-2A Page. The seller hopes to sell the entire jeep, but if he can’t get it sold, he plans to part it out. This has a serial number of #14575, so it is a very early CJ and it would be a shame to see this parted out.
How about this classic sand jeep. If the tires goes with it and are in decent shape, then this looks like a good price for the right person.
