Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This runs. It might be a good price.
“This is a 1947 Willys Jeep. I am not crazy about selling it but my dad needed the parking spot in the shed for a tractor. Instead of letting it sit out in the weather I decided to pass it on to someone who might be able to use and enjoy it. I bought this jeep from a friend who was forced to sell it for exactly the same reason. Believe it or not the jeep was original to his family and I am only the second owner. My friend drove it as his only means of transportation growing up until he parked it in his father’s barn 15 years ago. I bought it as a project and actually got it running great. I replaced more things than I care to list but will be glad to explain it all to any interested parties. I found that parts for this model are relativley inexpensive and easy to find. It still needs work but not as much as you would think. I feel that most of the work is cosmetic but I liked the patina and wouldn’t do it personally.”

It’s not all original …

It’s got the wrong engine, but has been stored indoors and has little rust (according to the seller).

(01/31/2010) This flattie includes an F-head conversion without the usually related hood modification.
“As stated this is my Dad’s Jeep that he is wanting to sell and it is nice… Sweet F-Head conversion (no cutting of the hood – this is slick). Saginaw Power Steering (yes power steering). Over Drive, Tilt Wheel, Rancho Lift with New 31″ tires, Rear Locker, Winch, CB, New top and doors, Candy Apple Paint, This is one of the nicest mildly built early Jeeps out there, no junk and no short cuts.”

It is missing the drivetrain. I can’t tell if this is a VEC or not.
“This flattie is in pretty good shape for a 64 year old workhorse. The drive train is missing. NO Title. This is a project. Body is all there, including tailgate, windshield/frame, tool box door. Put it together or use it as a donor for your own project. Wheels are not included, only used to roll it around. Delivery available within reason. I have some extra parts that I have collected that are included: trans, crossmember, Chev bellhousing and adapter. $600……”
