About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(10/19/2020) There’s a blemish on the passenger side; could be some rust or damage. The rear either is diamond plate or has a rubber diamond plate pad.
“I am selling my 1940s Willys CJ-2A. It starts, runs, drives, and stops. I recently put new wheel cylinders on but the brakes are still weak. It is 12 volt and has the modern gear reduction starter.
Was a off-road unit at one point and has the mud tires for it.
The body is in rough shape but everything else is in decent condition.
Comes with an extra front axle and some other misc. parts as well as the title.
This would be a good off-road candidate or for restoration. I am selling because I do not have time for it.
A rare combination of a Lefty and a Trencher. If you go to see it, don’t forget to visit Carhenge, a place I’ve yet to visit.

UPDATE: Definitely a scam. This jeep ad has been spotted in several locations now. A reader named Sam took the plunge and emailed the seller. After several rounds of emails, Sam concluded there was no jeep.
Possible scam as the price seems too good. Seller mentions nothing about the jeep.
“Great running little CJ flat fender Jeep. Driveable now but will require some final tinkering to put it back on the road – electrical for lights, blinks, gauges, brakes bled, decent seats and the tires are good but checked. Optima battery pictured NOT included with the sale. Has spent some time on the Coast so a little blistering here and there on the body but not terrible. 4 point roll cage included with the sale. All and all a cool project for someone with the hard work being done. Good title on current non op. $4200. Trades considered (no boats or bikes please)”
This refurbed 2A looks solid. It lacks drain holes, but the body seems in good shape and nicely repaired (if that’s the case). It lacks the original hood and the front gussets are missing, too. The truck behind it looks very nice.
“1947 Jeep CJ2A…..fiberglass tub, 283 corvette motor , 3 speed w/ overdrive….new tranny, new clutch/ pressure plate , new throw out bearing ,new bell housing…new wiring through out ….Radio/cassette player….winch with attachment kit…..runs and drives great , a true diamond in the rough…..need space, too many toys. Will consider all offers”
“Bought this a few months ago it ran and drove. It is an absolute blast to drive, like a cross between a tractor and a gokart… I took it around the neighborhood and to the grocery store a few times down the street, then started to prep to remove the tub to fix some rust on the floor panels. There are kits sold online that you just weld in place to make it a fairly siple repair.
I didn’t get very far, removed some body bolts, undid the dash wiring (all clearly labeled for easy re-assembly) You could put it all bag together and just drive it as is without issue, my plan was a full restoration but quickly realizing I do not have the time. Continue reading →
