Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (09/24/2018) The body has seen some work. It runs.
“1946 Willys cj2a clean title. Runs motor was suppose to be rebuilt 10k miles ago or so. Shifts fine 4×4 works good. Brakes work ok. Could use tune up/old gas drained perfect for hunting rig. 6 volt system has battery but needs new one $2800”

Early VIN of 35979. This has an L-head, not an F-head.

*T-90 transmission has been rebuilt

* Front and rear differential- new seals and bearings
* New tires
* New paint
* All gauges work
* Rust free
* Everything works and drives as it should.
* Title in hand, data plates match.
Saved the 9″ drums and backing plates and many other small parts to go with the Jeep.”
Looks solid, but doesn’t run. It has a rear bumper that I believe was sold out of Southern California. I’m still trying to track down the manufacturer.

“1946 willys jeep cj2a.
Body is patched and welded and looks 70 years old but its completely solid. Most of the body parts are heavier guage metal than stock and nothing is weak or rusted.
Engine is an l134 4 cylinder. Runs well.
Transmission and transfer case were rebuilt. New clutch. All work well.
Both axles were redone and work well with no leaks.
Radiator is new.
Brake system cylinders and lines are all brand new and work well.
The steering drives straight and tires are new period correct.
The jeep does everything it did in 1946 and about as well or better.
Its got a clean nj title. Runs and drives well and has been on the road most of this summer.
It needs lights wired in and temp guage and fuel guage wired in. New wiring harness is about 300 to 350. I dont drive it at night so havent gotten around to that yet.
Lots of spare parts come with it.
Im pretty firm on price.”

“Ford 302 V8. Warn winch- worked last time used. T18/T90 Warn overdrive. 5.38 Gears. Stock axles. 33 12.50 Super Swampers. Lift springs/shackles. Best top. Power brakes. Power steering. Tilt wheel. New battery. New k&n air filter element. New clutch. Roll cage, front floors and body mounts need work. Fuel tank has pinholes bit should be repairable (running on a gas can). Frame needs some welding. Running, driving, stopping, steering, project.”

These two 1947 CJ-2As have a variety of colors on them. The purplish/bluish/red-engine-compartment one has a rear PTO and a Beck/Kelly half-top. See all the pics here.
