About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

The tool box under the passenger side extends out quit a ways.
“1947 willys jeep cj2a must go To much for me can’t get it done at this point in my life clean title in hand good body it’s all there hasn’t been started in years it wouldn’t take much to get it going we connect the clutch new battery fresh gas fresh oil new plugs and I’m sure it would fire right up has a hurricane straight six the engine and trans are in great shape motor turns no problem I have antique license plates for it must sell if interested let me know has 65,000 original miles”
“1946 Tan colored Willys CJ2A with good engine trans but has some body issues – has some rust and a tub modification but is all complete. Has not ran in a while but it ran good with no smoke when the engine was worked on. 12V conversion with alternator, new factory air cleaner, tune up and oil filter set up – electric fuel pump. Has military black lights and shovel and ax mounted on drivers side. Non original black spoke wheels and mud grip tires with some weather cracks. Factory two piece windshield has crack in passenger side. Not perfect but complete and very hard to find in any condition.”
(03/11/2017) Has an OD. Looks like the steps have been altered.
“Original 1947 jeep willy, runs & is drivable, all original parts besides seats and windshield, splitter (two transmissions), very rare, clean title. Pick up only! located in payson, cash only!!”
(05/14/2017) Not sure how much work is left, but looks like quite a bit may have been completed.
“’48 Willys CJ, Frame off restoration not completed. Engine, trans, transfer case, front and rear axles, etc totally rebuilt, everything sand blasted and painted. Needs to be completed. Many new parts included.”
“This beauty has been stored inside and rebuilt from top to bottom. A must see for the flat fender enthusist. Some of the work done has been: Engine upgraded to the 1951 F Head professionally rebuilt approx. 2 years ago with less than 200 miles on rebuild. Everything in the engine is new except the block and crank. Custom hood, New brakes, wheel cylinders, Mater cylinder. New paint. Sun brella top. leather seats, Heater, 12000 # converted PTO winch to Electric. Tow bar. Lots of extra parts. Must see to appreciate. NADA Average book is $16,625 will sacrifice for $12,000 do to health.”
“This is referred to as a Very Early CJ (VEC) Jeep. Serial number 10391, it was the 391st CJ ever made. Probably produced the second or third day they made CJ’s. (they started at serial number 10001 and they only made about 1800 of these 1945 model CJ’s.) It is partly disassembled and all the parts are there. The engine and trans are replacements. the original shifter was on the steering column and it has been replaced with floor shift. The motor does turn over and they sealed it up when they took some of the parts off, so it is not full of dirt dobbers and rust, probably rebuildable. The floor has rust holes around the reinforcement channels as is normal with these jeeps. Replacement parts are readily available. The other parts of the body are in good shape. Front fenders are very smooth, hood is straight and stiff, has the original windshield rests on it. Grill is excellent. Tub has side indents for shovel and pick, like war jeeps. Has the original Power Take Off on the rear with all shafts and shifter in place. 6-Volt starter and generator. one 6v wiper for driver side, manual for rider. Harrison Heater. Selectro locking hubs. full floating rear axle, like a war jeep. Tailgate is good. gas tank looks good. Side mount spare carrier is gone but I can throw one in on the deal.
Also included is a new draw bar for the rear and a replacement front bumper.
This would make a great tribute jeep in military style or a nice jeep CJ show/parade car. Or, put a 302 in it, lift it and put big tires on it and go to the river. or do a little brush hogging with the PTO attachment.”
There seller is clear about what is wrong with it.
“For sale is a 1946 CJ-2A Jeep S/N 64484. Jeep is in running condition and is used as an aircraft tug on a daily basis. It is a 1946 so there are many things wrong with it.
Some of the items to note are:
– rust throughout jeep
-lights throughout are intermittent in operation or not working
– no gas cap
– engine burns oil
– brakes seem stiff
– needs tires
– leaks oil
The registration is available and we have an app for replacement title. It comes with the service manual and side door frames (see picture).
We are selling as is. We highly recommend a visual inspection of the jeep prior to purchase. All sales are final. Delivery possible. Call for delivery quote.”
“1946 Willys Jeep with clean, clear Washington Title. This is an original steel tub that is in so-so condition. Comes with grill and windshield frame and everything else shown in the picture.
It is sitting on a early Ford Bronco Chassis. Come with Ford 9 inch differentials front and rear as well as the Bronco 3 speed transmission and Dana 18 Transfer Case. It has a small block Ford in it now. I know nothing about the condition of this engine. Consider it a core. It has aluminum intake, headers, Accel Distributor etc. It also has a C4 transmission behind it.”
