This one-owner 7000 mile DJ-3A Surrey is for sale and will be at the Willys Reunion. It’s been in storage for 30 years. No word on the price.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Here’s a DJ-3A in great shape. Note the frame is purple.
“First of all,I must start by saying that this NOT a post office jeep,. In 1955 &1956 Willys put out this vehicle & called it a Jeep Dispatcher / Delivery vehicle ,ideal for use in congested metropolitan areas. To me it’s just a cool little jeep. This jeep had a frame off restoration a couple years back,at that time the original owner changed the transmission from a manual 3 speed synchromesh to a turbo 350 automatic with a 6 volt system. The original transmission is included, every nut &bolt was saved just incase to switch it back. The jeep is in great shape & runs good. Just had it inspected in may 2013,Ican’t think of anything it needs, besides maybe a tune up. $500.”
Marc spotted this unsual DJ-3A. The back has been extended and the dash contains a glovebox, but otherwise there’s lots of DJ-3A elements here. I didn’t know there were DJ-3A ambulances. Anyone ever seen one?
“Fully equipped DJ3A ambulance, well restored over the past years, very good technical condition, new tyres, good condition canvas softtop, etc…”
No pics provided.
“I have a 1967 DJ3A that needs to go, it was a project that never got done so it’s in pieces thats why I am selling as parts. ALL must go in one lot, this was the standard 2wd version with a flat head.. Sorry I do not have pictures. The body is on a trailer and delivery can be arranged”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was Estate Sale.
Doug just spotted this ad. I’d say three look like CJ-3As and one looks like a DJ-3A.

(05/12/2012) This looks like a very nice jeep. Based on the location of the gas inlet in the back, I’m going to guess this started life as a DJ-3A.
“New 350 Chevy crate engine
rebuilt 350 turbo
Power steering
New power brakes
Detroit Lockers front and rear
8000lb winch
Towbar”

Four wheel drive has been added to this DJ-3A.
“Tuff old jeep with snowplow, tire chains, towbar, michelin tires, 12 volt system, recently replaced locking hubs and brake master cylinder. Starts and runs well. I have plowed snow with this workhorse for the last 15 years that I have owned it. Just got a tractor and need to sell. Has old postal topper, with slide out drop down rear hatch.”
