This is an ex-fire station jeep, which would explain the unusual paint job.

“1952 M38A1. Serial Number 22011, date of manufacture 9/1952. It was an ex-Marine, then Fire Department Jeep. I’ve owned it for about 20 years with the intention of restoring it back to original, it was painted maroon before I bought it. Original military jeep with the 24 volt waterproof electrical system. No rust, only some light surface corrosion in spots. New NDCC tires, wiring harness, batteries, canvas seat covers, spark plug wires, and summer top. Rear seat and external power connector. Many extra parts: 3 voltage regulators, generator to voltage regulator cable, original light switch, 2ea winter doors (not in the best shape, 1 winter side flap, new door bows, old set of plug wires, extra black out light lamp, original gauges (37800 miles on it), extra military style wire connectors and covers, original spring & horse hair seat covers, 4ea NOS ground straps, battery hold down brackets, new parking brake arm and shoes, engine electrical test kit (Sun model WPW-10), new grill welt, extra cuno oil filter gaskets, NOS radio antenna mount, spare ammeter gauge, misc hardware, parts manual and service manual.”

“Have a couple of Military Jeeps M38-A1’s still painted OD Etc. One is a 1952 with less then 15,000 miles. The other is a depot rebuild 1953 also still in OD paint with a original military hard top. And also a large number of spare parts for them both. – – – –

I also have a Military GP Small Tent with a Liner and Aluminum Poles. 18 foot in diameter x 6 1/2 foot walls x and a 10 foot center pole. – Has a few small Boo Boo’s. – Not sure of age but is a Great Heavy Duty Tent for a Base Camp or Hunting Camp. – Also have other items that you may need. For your Main Camp, Stove, Heater, Lanterns, Cots, Canteens, Mess Kits and Much More. I hope to have it set up in a few days. – I will also trade for Guns, Gold, Silver, Tools, ETC. His plan was to move to his farm and use this regularly, His business has prohibited him from moving to his family farm so he has decided to sell the jeep.
