UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was on eBay

This needs to be completed. Engine non original.  Seller also has a Bantam Trailer for $850, too.

“This is a 1942 Willys MB GP (Jeep). Not a CJ. The pictures pretty much describe it best. This Willys has extraordinary potential for restoration with minimal rust — which is why I bought it in the first place. Having the data/serial number tag was a big bonus as well.

My employer has already given me notice of an upcoming transfer/move, so I’m selling off a lot of my projects that I won’t have time to complete. It will obviously need someone with time and knowledge to restore, but for those of us that enjoy breathing new life into something with so much history, this is a perfect candidate. As you can see in the photos, it has a cutaway section in the firewall where, at some point in its past, someone wanted a bigger engine it. They had also removed the engine mounts and the front cross member, but I have an original replacement cross member that goes with it. The transmission still has an adapter plate mounted to it, which was probably meant for the V6 Buick motor that was typically put in the early Willys CJ’s.

There is a T-90 transmission and transfer case still mounted in the Jeep, and I have an extra T-90 transmission, as well as a T-84 transmission that is in pieces and would need rebuilt. I also have an extra WWII era cowling (in pic) that can be used to bring the dash back to original. Included is a CJ engine that is in good condition, which may be a ’46 or ’47 but I’m not sure. I removed the head to inspect the inside, and it looks very good – should someone want to use this engine since it’ll bolt up the same as the military engine. I have several extra rims (with old tires), radiator, carb, flywheel, drive shafts, rear axle, and lots of misc engine and body pieces.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

This is a mix of military and custom parts.

“Up for your consideration, is a very nice 1946 Military Jeep. It has a 327 Chevy engine with a 2 speed power glide automatic transmission. It has brand new Goodyear Wrangler LT 255/70 R 16, load range C, mud and snow tires, brand new rims, Warn Hubs, and a new Edelbrock carburetor. It is equipped with a tow bar and a rear tire mount. The hood is fiberglass. There is no rust-out on the body, and all the floor panels are very straight. It has an electric fuel pump and an 18.7 gallon gas tank sitting where the back seat would be, and a roll bar. It needs to have some electrical finished, i.e.; headlights, missing front turn signals, and windshield wiper. It also needs a sending unit installed in the gas tank. Three of the five gauges are also new. It is a very nice driver with a powerful engine. I bought the Jeep with intentions of finishing it off, but due to a crippling degenerative back condition, and a pending second back surgery, I am forced to sell it. I have tried to describe the Jeep to the best of my ability.”

Brett spotted this one. It is supposed to have military axles.  It might have a military body, too. It’s worth a look. It’s got a Kelly hardtop.

“This jeep will run with a new distributor. I have one- just no time to put it in. Has the military axles, and is fairly clean.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay

This looks good.

“This is a reserve auction for a 1942 Willys MB, serial number MB127011, date of delivery 11 March 1942. This Jeep was manufactured with a limited number of Jeeps after Willys started manufacturing WWII Jeeps with the “pressed grille” sheet metal type of front grille, (only 1202 by serial number). The earlier front grilles were the “slat grille” type (the last slat grille serial number was MB125809). This MB is a motorpool type restoration. When the Jeep was obtained by a prior owner there was already a mixture of MB and GPW parts on it. It is suspected that it was used on base at Camp Shelby, MS for years where the mixture of parts originated during on-base maintenance. The hood & bumper markings are in honor of the 124th Infantry Division (Dixie Division). The frame serial number is orginial. The glove box data plates are reproductions made by Robert de Ruyler at Dataplates4U.com. The T84 transmission, transfer case and rear axle are GPW componets. The orginial body was so shot that it was replaced with a repro body. The transmission and transfer case have been rebuilt and runs great. All bearings have been replaced in the axles as well as new brake cylinders, brake lines and brake shoes. The engine is a 1946 CJ2a L134 flat head that has also been rebuilt and runs great. The radiator is a CJ2a radiator. Included with the Jeep are, repro cloth top & frame, 5 repro combat wheels and tires, period dated gas can, shovel & axe, jack and tow rope. Receipts and photos of restoration are available if wanted. This vehicle is titled and tagged in Tennessee and will include a Bill of Sale”

(10/02/2012) “This is a Willys Jeep with original transmission and engine. It has a canvas top, large interior heater and gun rack. All gages work. Some NOS parts were used. Kit body was used. Some things on this jeep are not original issue such as, converted electrical from 6 volt to 12, fan, distributor has been upgraded for electronic ignition and start button upgrade. These things were done to make the jeep more reliable. The engine has 209 miles on it. Everything has been done on this. This Willys is from the restorers personal collection and it is awesome.”

1942 Slat Grille MB Modesto, CA **Status Unknown**

• CATEGORIES: MB • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Was on eBay. Status Unknown.

“Here is a very early 1942 Willys MB jeep. It is the very last run of slat grills that had the glovebox. It has a slat grill frame with the short top straps and a willys script tub. It also has slat grill air deflectors. The jeep has a F head motor installed that turns over. The jeep will probably run with very little effort. I do have a WWII Willys MB engine that I would be willing to sell separately to the high bidder. I am starting the bidding at $100 with no reserve so please bid accordingly. What you see is what you get and please ask any questions you have. There is no title but I can obtain one. It will take a month or so and the winning bidder will have to cover the fees. I can help shipping this jeep anywhere in the world.”
