Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1943 Willys Jeep MB model. Original flat head 4 cylinder Willys engine. Misc parts and repair manual. This vehicle ran until the clutch went out, new clutch partially installed. This vehicle is a great project vehicle. Jeep doesn’t have a gas tank. This was an old Navy jeep. Still has the original blackout lights except for the headlight. This is great for the serious restorer.”

There are a variety of updates on this jeep. I believe the grille and the body are from a MB or GPW.
“1951 Jeep Willys on a stretched CJ-5 frame. Lots of extras for offroading. Dana front and rear axles, vaccuum braking system, front disc brakes, granny gear, and 320hp inline V-6. Call for details. Priced to sell – moving! Runs good and great in low gears offroading.”

“1942 Slat Grill Willys data tag dated 02-25-42 Slat grill indicating one of 25,000ish of which 200 know to surive this one needs restored most all the parts there and work no seats no wheels engine number is correct MB# and frame and date tag numbers match runs good drives good 4 wheel works hi and low is working Cutlas Lockout hubs on front working no wiring and the body is rough have title and licence plate”

Here’s a fun looking, old school build that Bob spotted. It looks like it has a CJ-5/CJ-3b cage in it — the bend in the front is in the wrong spot. But, who cares; it has flames!
