UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600.

It’s not perfect, but maybe someone can use this.

“1947 Willys CJ2A body tub, front fenders, hood and grille for sale. All has ratty-looking flaking white/blue paint, bondo, old fiberglass, surface rust, etc. but has been repaired structurally to be usable, or suitable for more restoration.

Tub floor and hat channels have been replaced but the lower sides need attention unless you want to go the Rat Jeep route. Front fenders are a little rough, but repaired and usable until you find better ones. Hood has had a hole repaired and is also usable. Grille is in good condition, but headlight buckets are missing. Will throw in remains of a later tailgate to complete the ratty set. All pieces but tailgate have matching “patina” as noted.

Asking $600 for the lot, mainly because of the hours in the tub floor. Have a couple equally ratty matching windshield frames for extra $.”

(03/30/2017) Interesting story. The 3B hood with the louvres is unusual.

“I purchased this to turn into my dream FrankenWillys, stretched to allow 3 rows of seats. When I called the Idaho DOT, everything went well until I said “stretch”. Apparently that makes it a new vehicle, that would need to meet current safety standards (airbags, etc.). So I set my dream aside and bought a CJ8 as a compromise. I need to get the CJ3 out of the garage, so I can get the CJ8 fixed up.

Most of the CJ3 B body has been sandblasted. If it is gray in the picture, it is likely sandblasted. The floor has rust, see pictures, but overall it is in good condition for an old Willys. Comes with Koenig steel top. The top comes with a set of full doors. There is also a set of half doors. There is a spare firewall to replace the original firewall that was cut out for a V8.”

Well this is interesting. That body might fit nicely on a post 1972 stock CJ-5 Frame.

“Custom Aqualu CJ2A Body
– Tub – 4″ wider and 6″ longer than stock, 3″ of length added to door area, 3″ of length added to rear wheel area
– Grill – 4″ wider than stock
– Hood – 4″ wider, 3″ longer than stock
– Windshield Frame – 4″ wider than stock
– Front Fenders – 3″ longer than stock
– Storage Tailgate – 4″ wider than stock
Custom CJ2A frame
– 139″ long (end to end including bumpers)
– 29.5″ between rails
– Rear section (including angled taper into center section) – 40″ long
– Front section (including angled taper into center section) – 38.5″ long
– Front and rear sections are 2x4x0.188″ wall rectangle tube, center section is 2x6x0.188″ wall rectangle tube
– Setup for leafs with the frame side plates, but those could easily be cut off for links (that was my ultimate plan)

The body package was over $9k from Aqualu.

“I no longer need this tub, so needless to say, here it is for sale. It’s an original 1945 ACM2 tub, which was used on late 1944 through 1945 Ford GPWs and Willys MB WW2 Jeeps. And based on the drilled holes on the floor, this was used for a radio-equipped Jeep.

A previous owner had it sandblasted and it sat outside after that. The brown coating you see is surface rust. The body needs some repairs on the floor, but I have to say . . . it’s extremely straight! The reproduction footrests and shipping plate are not included. The tub is located in Lodi, CA. Local pickup is preferred.

Note: There is no title with this tub. It never came with one and rightfully so. At least in California, a VIN is based on a vehicle’s frame and this is obviously a tub.”
