This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “For sale is a 1947 Jeep CJ2A project. Major components removed. Rust repair started. Usual rotted floors, but includes new floor pans and braces from Walck’s.”

“For sale is 1948 cj2a willys jeep, this vehicle does not have title. Bill of sale only, the willys has all major components less the air cleaner, it was converted to 12 v and does have engine transmission, transfer case, axels, and all that. The two front seat frames are there, and has two bar, body does need work but is not the worst I’ve seen. Very doable project, the jeep ran in 2006 but I have not the time to get it moving again. Will consider any reasonable offer.”

“For sale 1946 CJ2A Jeep. Has title. The jeep ran a few years ago when it was parked inside my shop. It has not moved since. . .time to sell. The transmission or rear diff is now locked up due to sitting for years. Jeep has lots of rust and bondo, great for parts or project. I am asking $1000 NO EMAILS PLEASE ”

“This is a 1947 CJ2A Willis Jeep It has a new windshield glass, front floor pans, rear deck pan, new paint, all gauges including speedometer, new tires, brakes, front and rear lights,seats front and rear, steering bell crank gear. (10/17/2012) This is a project, but has a rebuilt drive train, brand new frame, and brand new body. I haven’t looked at it, but if you are interested, I’ll run over and check it out.
“1946 CJ-2A Willys Jeep Project, this is a great project, most of the heavy lifting is already done. Includes:
-New AFW Frame
-New OMX-ADA body with Willys stamped hood & tailgate
-Tilt wheel, Saginaw steering conversion
-Original drive train (completely rebuilt by local pro)
-Roll bar and weld-in front cage (not welded up yet)
-New wiring harness
-5 steel wheels & good tires
-Some other bits & pieces
-Tow bar”

“Jeep has original flathead four cylinder, original trans and transfer case as well as axles. It has all matching serial tags, frame, firewall, etc. The body has some rust repair needed but can be fixed by someone with the knowledge and skills. I have a roll bar for this model in mint shape and original seat frames. It has been a family project for a while and we just don’t have the time for it. We are mainly looking to sell but may trade for a quad or motorcycle, maybe something else? I have all DMV forms to register and drive on the road when it is ready. It won’t take much it ran fine about ten years back when it was parked.”

(09/13/2013) The front bumper is unusual.
“Beautiful classic jeep. Very original older restoration. Get in and drive. Comes with nice canvas top. Steel replacement body. No rust or rot. If it is posted it is still available.”

It’s a mix of 2A and 3A parts. It is missing the front parking lights. Auction occurs October 8, 2013.

“My son Jarred spotted this for sale in Springs (where I live) yesterday. We both went to look at it today.

It is a 1947 CJ-2A with s/n # 88706 being sold privately at a second hand car dealership (Anrecha Auto, Tel. +27 11 362 2243), so I have absolutely nothing to do with this sale. Maybe someone from here (RSA) will see the post and she will go to good home……………if only I could buy her I certainly would.
1) No data plate in engine bay, only the frame tag is still attached.
2) The type plate in the front passenger side is MIA.
3) Engine has been replaced with a Toyota 2.1 4Y petrol engine (installation look neat)
4) Gearbox set up looks normal but the salesman did not know the type but said the owner stated it was Toyota??
5) None standard fuel tank, it is home made but looks the part and I think it may be stainless.
6) Aftermarket CJ-2A windscreen.
7) Non standard tail gate mounted spare wheel which has broken the tail gate which has been
modified with other hinges.
8) All seems straight but the paint job is a “look nice”only as there appears to be body filler in
places and there is visible rust all round.
9) 3 small tail lights fitted on both left and right sides.
10) Top hat sections/hat channels have seen better days as they have rusted through.
11) No speedo but the other instruments look non standard.
12) Body has been lifted, by what looks like 2-inches with round rubber blocks to clear the
engine height for the hood/bonnet.
13) R 65 000 South African rand’s appears to be a little harsh for what this is and the overall
condition.
