This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (06/19/2013) Looks like a nicely modified jeep.
“Selling my 1948 CJ2a. This is not a project vehicle. Always garaged since I have owned the vehicle (10 years). Powered by a 283 with a Muncie 4 speed transmission. Has a rare overdrive gear for freeway. Transmission rebuilt a few years ago. Dana 44 rear axle with air locker (onboard air compressor). Custom cage, bumpers, diamond plating, and exhaust. Rhino lined interior. Fairly new tires and wheels (33’s). Have a newer softtop and doors that are included. Never put back on after new paint job. Has collector plate currently.”

– Original flat head 4-cylinder, less than 2000 miles after rebuild

– Left side wheels changed to RH studs, and rear drums updated
– New exhaust muffler and tubes
– New military tubed tires of original size (5x)
– Proper size wheels
– New soft top
– Added speed-up adapter to PTO, and drives great at highway speeds
– Handbrake reworked and re-sealed
– All instruments working OK
– Original vacuum-powered wiper
– Added 12V 2000 lb winch — not connected yet
Spare parts include:
– Spare tire side mount
– Carburetor
– Water pump
– Exhaust manifold
– New parts for electric wiper
– Some gaskets
– Original style hardware for windshield tilt, etc.

(01/14/2013) Looks like a solid jeep with a nice top. The front blinker lights are unusual.

This is a project. It looks like the frame and running gear are post 1972 CJ-5.
“Project vehicle. Does not run. I’ll never get to this project. Was thinking I would find a running cj5 and swap this body onto it since the current frame has been cut/welded, etc. The body has been cut and welded a fair amount too on the floor pans/firewall/etc. Nice top and very little surface rust!
CJ5 frame, axles, Dauntless v6 engine with Willys CJ2A or CJ3A body.
