About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1946 willys cj2. Jeep has new carburator, new cap and new rotor. needs motor work. Still have the original carberator. Has 4 pretty good 31/10.50/15 mud tires. One bad thing is that i dont have the title for it but you should be able to get one. If you have any questions please call (970) – 865 – 2708 Thanks I am asking $1500.00 obo but will take less if i keep the tires and wheels.”
UPDATE: Price had dropped to $2000, but the ad now includes a boat.
(11/11/2012) Engine has a knock of some kind.
“Time to get rid of some toys i dont have time for-Have a 14′ fiberglass fishing boat w/ 85 hp 2 stroke outboard has a fish finder and sun canopy. & 1947 Willys jeep. has original drivetrain, winch, roll cage bumper jack and lock box. title in hand. runs but has a engine knock.i want 3000 for both. will consider offers on them individually, or trades in equal value, at the moment i am quite partial to presmog vw’s. contact me via email.”
(11/14/2012) This looks nice. It has a clever spare tire holder that uses part of the PTO bar. It’s worth a look. The custom undercarriage is lower than usual.
” 1947 Willys CJ2a. This is an easy driver for anyone. It was built for my mother to drive around. It has all the great Willys jeep modifications including:
Saginaw power steering
Buick 231 V6
Dana 44 rear, Dana 27 front, 3:73 gears.
Turbo 350 automatic transmission with single stick Dana 20 transfer-case.
Adjustable front bucket seats (Drivers side has the wheel-well “notched” for more adjustment room- I am almost 6’3″ and can drive this comfortably.
Vent in windshield frame that can be opened for air flow (See pics)
Dome lights wired in hard top
M38 Military lightweight Arctic Top.
Swing out spare tire (see pics)
Two “stock style” gas tanks on passenger and drivers sides.
Near NEW tires
This Jeep was never used off the road. It will get around town and fly down the freeway just fine. This is a really snappy rig and will take off at the drop of hat. It gets lots of looks going down the road. The only trouble is the gas gauge which needs worked on and a small chip in the windshield which has a “glass sticker” on it to keep it from spreading. Please ask any questions. I am selling this in cooperation with my father.
The work was completed about 10 years ago on the jeep. It has always been garaged and rarely driven in the rain. It was a spring and summertime driver.
Alas, it’s top will keep you warm and dry (has heater and defroster). In heavy water (such as during washing or heavy rain) some water will gather in the front floor boards. We always just put a towel down there when washing. Someone could easily track the source of the water getting in, we just never did as it was a nice day driver.”
“mostly original yellow willys
has top and doors, etc. but top is not perfect
runs great – have owned for 8 years and driven regularly.
Rare shark’s teeth factory option”
“1946 WILLY’S-NEW ENGINE, NEW GAS TANK, NEW FUEL SENDING UNIT, TRANSMISSION GONE THROUGH (REBURBISHED) ALSO INCLUDED ORIGINAL AUXILLARY WHEELS (NOT CURRANTLY ON JEEP) CLEAR TITLE!!!!I RECENTLY HAD SURGERY, AND I JUST DO NOT HAVE THE TIME FOR IT, HATE TO SEE IT GO BUT I REALLY NEED THE MONEY FOR MY MEDICAL BILLS.”
This looks like a good price. It’s listed as a 1948, but the body and serial number suggests a ’46.
“1948 Willy’s CJ2A
New military tires
new seats
new fuel tank
new battery
new front bumper
fresh brakes
original flathead 4 cylinder
The hard work is done, now just body work and fine tuning.”
(08/27/2012) This doesn’t have a title. It looks like it has some life left.
“This is a 1946-47 Willys CJ-2A Jeep set up for use as a hunting jeep. This jeep runs great with low hours on an older engine rebuild. The body is not a candidate for restoration but it is sound. Custom front and rear bumpers with an extended platform and tow bar on the front bumper. The bed has been completely replaced with steel plate and a custom tailgate that folds out into a bed extension for additional carrying capacity. Engine has been converted to 12V with an alternator. New water pump, new electric backup fuel pump, rebuilt carburator and new battery. Good brakes with new wheel cylinders and master cylinder. Freshly rebuilt transmission and transfer case. Excellent oversize off-road tires. Newly upholstered seats. This jeep is ready to load up and go hunting. I also have a custom built hunting tower that fits on the jeep. It needs some work but I will throw it in if you want it. No title. Bill of Sale only. I have owned the jeep for almost 30 years and to my knowledge it has never been licensed.”
(11/15/2012) This is listed at GGE Nagles, but I wasn’t sure what that meant. No pics provided.
“I have a 1946 Willy’s Jeep, Motor and drive train rebuilt to original specs. The body needs some work but not beyond repairing it’s all there.Only serious buyers please. I am willing to possible trade for fishing Boat or nice Atv 4 wheeler .My name is Jim and my number is 239-370-9723.”
“1948 CJ-2A Restored in early 1990 by Willys of Milwaukee Wis. The vehicle is a driver quality and not a show vehicle. It has new tires, brakes, shocks and springs all around. It has a 12V. electrical system. The rest of the vehicle is original. It runs good and is a lot of fun to drive. I used it for an airport car for the past 5 years and have given up flying so I no longer need my toy. This car gets tons of looks and always gets comments and brings back lots of memories. The drive train is solid but like any vehicle that is 64 ears old it does have some minor drips, not really leaks. I have 4 extra wheel rims that are included and a canvas top that came with the car when I bought it. I am taking a $4,000 loss on this car from my investment. Buyer must make arrangements for shipping, I will assist in any way I can to make it as easy for the buyer as I can. The vehicle is available for inspection and I can store it for up to 6 months if necessary.”
