About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

L 134 go devil engine. original 59879 miles.hard top included. I have alot of personal problems, which is why i am selling this cheap. yes its mine. the old title actually listed it as a 48 but the VIN i looked up said 47, took it to the dmv and they fixed it for me. priced to sell. runs, drives, stops. ready to go.
“This is 1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep with a WWII Willys MB motor, Serail # MB393830, casting 638632W2A A 3-80. The jeep is running and has a clear Massachusetts title. I bought this jeep because it has a WWII Willys MB motor in it. I have WWII Jeeps and intended to use it as a spare (it runs perfect, no smoke and good oil pressure). My plan was to pull the WWII motor, rebuild one of the motors I had from CJ2A’s, install it and then sell the jeep. Time marches on and I eventually found another motor that I could use as a spare. The CJ2A comes with 2 motors,, Serial # CJ2A33837 (which is a 1946; the previous owner of this motor was doing a valve job and that’s how I got it))and Serial # U48485; both turn freely and are early production (still have the oval pad); extra radiator; spare tire and mount; column shift transmission (see photo of inside, it looks really good and turns smoothly) and transfer case (this was entire drivetrain was married to the CJ2A 33837 motor); early soft top and some bows (never tried it on); extra parts; very original (i.e. right windshield, seats); no bondo, but has had sheet metal replaced (I think the side steps look cool); it has a WO 636 12 patent carb and Oakes air cleaner. I redid the brakes last year and it has a new exhaust. The seats will need to be reupholstered, but I believe that they are original, backs and seats have springs. It has your typical drips but runs and shifts fine… it’s 66 years old. It has 2 of the three original data plates on the dash (like that when I bought it). It has a T-90 transmission, but I’m guessing it origianlly had a column shifter. Currently, it is setup for 12v. It is titled as a 1947 CJ2A, that was how I got it.
A WWII Jeep guy would be interested because of the original good running motor and that they are hard to find. You could pull it, put in a rebuilt CJ2A motor the resell the jeep (you get money back). Or a CJ2A guy pulls the motor, sells it and rebuilds and installs the CJ2A motor (you get money back). I would guess the motor is worth at least $1500 (could be more, lots of WWII jeeps have CJ2A motors in them and guy want an original). Both CJ motors look fine, can’t see any cracks in the block. There are extra parts (motor, drivetrain, etc) to sell if you don’t want them.I don’t have the time or desire to do this now, so that’s my reason for selling it. I need to focus on my WWII jeeps”
Some dents and dings on the passenger side and has some floor rust.
“This is a mechanically beautiful truck hiding inside a well patinated body. I’ve been driving it all over Petaluma this year, enough that it’s become well known and loved. I’d keep it forever, but our first baby will be here next month, and I have five cars that can’t hold a baby seat. D’oh!
Here’s a list of recent work:
– new radiator, thermostat, hoses, belts
– new cap, rotor, points, condenser
– new spark plug wires, plugs, coil, battery, battery cables
– rebuilt carb
– oil change, filter
– new fuel tank, all new lines & hoses, new fuel pump and fuel filter
– new or rebuilt all wheel cylinders and master, new lines and soft hoses
– axle seals (inner and outer, front and rear) replaced and packed wheel bearings, new swivel seals
– greased all chassis lube points
– rebuilt original Dualmatic locking hubs
– new rear main seal, timing cover seal, crankshaft seal, oil pan gasket, rocker cover gasket
– new muffler and rear portion of exhaust
– fresh tune-up including valve adjustment
– new NDT tires and tubes
– new full top bow set and Sunbrella canvas half cab
– 48″ farm jack mounted to front bumper
More good things:
– original chaff guard included (hard to find)
– starts easily, runs very well, shifts, steers, brakes etc. just as it should
– tow bar included for easier transport
– spare engine with all ancillaries comes with it; very handy for reference and emergency spares
– original black CA plates with current registration
Current needs:
– speedometer broke and was taken out to send to rebuilder; can rebuild or buy new one from Walck’s for $75 (maybe less on ebay)
– fuel tank sender needs replacement; registers ok between 1/4 and empty so at least you know when you need gas
– obviously needs body and paint if you want to win a show. Most people (including me) seem to get a bigger kick out of the patina that only 66 years of existence can produce
– rust through on passenger floor and bottom of tool box, pitted driver’s floor; otherwise just surface rust
– new owner may want new front seat canvas ($110 from New Life Canvas, screws in place)
– windshield vent levers are not installed (they are included with the truck)”
(10/26/2012) This appears to be a CJ-2A frame/running gear with a replacement body (M-38 style) and windshield.
“For sale: 1948 M38 Willys. Currently registered and inspected last month. Excellent running condition, previous owner was a mechanic. New brakes and master cylinder. This is a rare jeep, first come first serve! Email with questions.”
“This is a CJ2A that was used as a Movie Promotional Mascott. The Movie “TUGGER, THE JEEP 4X4 WHO WANTED TO FLY” was released in 2005. I bought this CJ2A from the man that owned the Rights to Movie and the Promotional Items. It is titled and runs great. It has been entered in Car Shows and has won Trophies and “Best of Show”. The paint Scheme is of the Air Force Thunderbirds. It has the Insignia of the Thunderbirds and was rebuilt along with the engine by the Sponsers; The Air Force, Jeep, Shell Oil, Orlando Genesis and Arnald Palmer Hospital for Children and Women. KIDS LOVE IT! Many comments at traffic lights. Beautiful eye catcher! It can be used for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Parades and Funerals (or just plain enjoyable driving). Not many miles since rebuild according to the tires. I fly the American Flag and Air Force Flag on special occasions.”
This has something installed on the front bumper, but I can’t see much due to the small pics.
“47 Willys CJ3. slightly later 4 cyl engine (OVH) /winch; good seats, heater, tool box, windshield wiper (for 1) has a little box like a pickup. serviceable paint – all one color no major dents. Runs fine ready to go. This thing climbs trees and wades streams but it willl not run highway speeds. It has hauled out moose, elk, and deer. Excellent tires back window panel rolls up and ties so you can shoot from 3 sides. Decent seats. (recovered – ok job). curved steel roof. Professionally built.”
