About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Runs and drives well, never been registered in California, I have the pink slip from Hawaii, needs restoration, windshield is cracked, has a 2.0 OHC Ford engine, 4 speed std transm, 4WD, power steering,”
This appears solid, but has had some body work done.
“I have a clea jeep running driving clean title almost all original except for tires and wheels and seats. I have the full enclosure almost new. has complete original running gear. I drive it regularly. there is one issue and it is that the starter acts uo here and there. I also have the rear mount pto setup for it. not installed yet. just takes a couple bolts. ready to drive clear title in my name.”
“1946 CJ2A Willys Jeep body. This ad is for the body only, tub, windshield (glass still good), grill, tailgate, fenders, and hood.
Is it rusted? Yep. Is it a semi-hack job? Yep. Is it worth $300? Yep.
It can be salvaged if you want to save it, too much work for me. Or you can slap it on your running gear and wheel the dog snot out of it.
Again, just in case there is any confusion, ONLY the body is for sale, and the price is $300. If you can’t afford it I understand, just don’t waste my time with lowball offers.”
Needs work. Check out the tire size differences on the rear.

(02/20/2012) “Jeep CJ2A needs to be fully restored comes with many extra parts that are to be sold with the jeep. I will not separate them. This Jeep has been stored inside out of the weather for many years. Call or text me for more pics or to come take a look at it. 636-358-4678. Or email through craigslist. Thanks.”
(04/13/2012) There’s some value, but hard to tell how much. That green jeep looks particularly sad.
“Two Willys jeeps for parts or rebuild. One has engine & transmission (has not run in a long time)but body about shot, the other has a better body (not great)but no engine or trans. No titles. $400 ea. cash only. ”
“This is a good running, solid, fun 1948 Willys CJ2A. I have owned this Jeep for 21 years and originally rebuilt it in 1994 and militarized it last year. It runs, drives, stops excellent. It has a very solid body with Gillispie 319 paint. Under the hood it is clean and has been converted to 12v. The tires and tubes are less than a year old. The drivetrain has less than 2k miles on it since rebuild. Also included is a bunch of original Willys parts such as: an original 1942 MB grill, a back seat, 6v starters and generators, carbs, driveshafts, axels and more. This is a great old Jeep and I hate to see her go but really don’t have time to enjoy it like I should.”
“You are looking at a 1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A The body has been rhino lined inside and out and does not look bad. Problem with the rhino lining is they also did the dash and other areas that probably should not have been done and although very well protected I think it would look better if these areas had not been done. The engine is a Ford 5.0L, 302ci with a Carter ASM 750 CFM Carburetor. The block casting number shows it is a 69-73 before they were detuned and the compression lowered due to emissions, when a muscle car was still a muscle car. I have rebuilt the carburetor, timed it and done a full tune up. It runs good with all the power you might need and it will smoke all four tires if you want.
I am pretty sure that the transmission, three speed, and drive train are original. The clutch works well, it shifts fine and the 4 wheel drive works fine. Most of the underneath has been redone and is new including springs, shocks, tie rods, etc. There is approximately a 2 inch lift on the spring shackles that you can see in the picture of the rear end. Everything else looks pretty much stock. ”
