About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“For Sale:
1948 Willys Jeep
Snowblade with Hydrolic lift
Good motor and drivetrain
Runs great – looks rough!
Homemade hard top
We have been using it to push snow on 4 driveways for several years
Great little machine!”
“Rumor had it this Jeep was used in a few movies back in the day (anyone say: Kelly’s Heroes). The previous owner bought it and planned to restore it, after many years he was ready to let it go. He had rebuilt the Engine and put in a new Radiator, and converted it to 12 Volt system with Alternator. We bought it in this condition, pretty much “rust-free” but with a few dents and dings (Jeep in Dark Green-white wheels). We CHOSE to leave that, so it looked more like a Combat (Field) Jeep – not a “SHOW” JEEP!”
According to the seller, “no modifications have been made on this jeep“. I count at least 21 modifications (not counting the tires). That said, the body looks pretty good.
“This jeep has been garaged except the last the few months. Had to do some remodleing in my garage. There is little surface rust in a few spots nothing major. Role bar in back, snap on soft top. Small rust hole on passager side floor board. ENGINE NOT RUNNING, This jeep is in great shape considering the year it is made. Reply to this or call 360-249-4063. Ask for Kurt
Thanks for looking. This jeep wouldn’t take much to fix up nice if you have time and money that I don’t have. This jeep is all original from 1946, no modifications have been made on this jeep. There is not speedometer in the jeep, there never has been so I have no idea how many miles are on it, it the second engine that has been put in it. Asking $2000.00 for it, title in hand.”
“Testing the waters about selling this project Jeep. Mostly stock except for having the later model flat head 6. Had it running over the winter. Bill of sale only, not title. Sold as is cash only.Emails need to have Flatty in the subject or I won’t respond due to spam.”
UPDATE: This is supposed to be Fred Weis’ first Bobcat fiberglass body. **SOLD** Was $5500.
“1948 Willys Flatfender Jeep with Bobcat fiberglass body. It has a 327 small block chevy, T18 ford 4 speed, model 20 t-case, dana 44 with 1-ton chevy locking hubs in the rear, dana 30 with open knuckles in the front, warn winch in the front, 33″ MTR tires. It runs and drives good and has great working heat. Previously it had been in storage since 1981, but is back on the road and now has current tabs. “Jeep is in good shape, six cylinder hurricane engine, body in good shape, runs but has no brakes (needs fluid) Some surface rust that can be removed by light sandblasting. Engine runs good. ”
“1948 Jeep CJ2A. Jeep is a good candidate for restore… Some parts have been taken out of front and rear axles. Motor is locked up but it did run before it was parked a few years ago. Jeep has had repair pannels put on and some Bondo work (this was done before I got it) its all there and these old jeeps are getting tough to find. Title in hand.”
