Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (07/15/2012) As Mark notes, “I don’t know what to say. is it the pope jeep?”. So, if you have a visiting dignitary that needs a clear glass coach, I think this is just about there . . .
“Have a 1946 Willys Jeep that runs, no title. 12v conversion. Will trade for 50s Chevy project truck or car or BO. Has a homemade 2″ square tube windshield frame/roll bar with plexiglass. I can remove the frame if need be.”

“Everything is complete except seats & windshield. Too many parts still good to help someone with there CJ2A restoration to take to the scrap yard! Or a grate start for someone looking for a Willys 2A to restore. Can’t tell you the last time it ran, doesn’t have title but have vin tags for it & can give bill of sale.”

(02/14/2013) The seller lists this as a 1951, but it has a 2A plate that indicates it is a 1948 CJ-2A. The body is patched in the rear. The steps are odd.

“1947 cj2a willys jeep. jeep runs fair. mostly original. new water pump, fuel pump, head gasket, radiator cleaned out. a small hide away box was built in the back. this jeep run good. great for hunting or putting around the farm. comes with a landcruiser roll cage that needs a little cutting and welding to fit. asking $3500 O.B.O”

“I have a 1948 Jeep Willys runs doesn’t drive. I bought this for a project but I do not have the time to fix it. It has what I believe is a Dauntless 225 V-6. Installed by a previous owner. I really don’t know much more than that. the block casting is 991503.”

(08/23/2014) This looks nice. I thought I’d seen this earlier, but couldn’t find it.
“I have too many toys. This one has to go. 327 chevy, SM421 4 Speed Trans, Dana 25 Front, Dana 44 Rear, New 4.88 Gears in both by Fearless Gear (rebuilt front). New 33″ BFG Mud Terrain Tires. New Paint. All Gauges Work. Rhino Lined Firewall, Interior, Fenders. New Rims. The bottom looks as good as the top. Asking $9,000 or best offer. Will entertain trades of equal value.”

“Move forces sale. Tub is 96% done, floor boards, quarters, center tunnel all completely re-done. Sand blasted and ready for primer and paint. Have all new hardware, rubbers, washers, everything from kaiser willys. Have all kinds of extras. SM465 transmission, Spicer 18 transfer, 5 drivelines. Rear housing is a 44 front is 30.
