Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 Willys CJ2 Running and driving condition – brakes need work. Smooth body (outside) but there’s some rust on the undercarraige (as any other ’46 would have)! I’m looking to sell this jeep – not make money on it! I have researched the market for similar jeeps and I’m in the ballpark. I’m not in any rush to sell it and I don’t have any hardluck story. It was inherited and I’m not a car-buff”

This has a variety of updates. The diamond plating on the side is mounted at an unusual location.

Needs a front bow holder. Otherwise looks great.
“Restored 20 years ago, blasted & painted tub, rims, rebuilt engine bored .040″ oversize, all original, including original rear PTO, all brass tags intact, frame has never had any rust, complete brake overhaul last year (master, solid and rubber brake lines, all wheel cylinders & shoes) , 4WD all works fine, lock-out hubs, original split windshield frame too. Factory 16″ rims, rear seat, new never mounted Best Top soft top & doors, Warn overdrive unit ready to install. Tub has been rust repaired, and rust preventative sprayed under vehicle, new front leaf springs, and converted to 12 volt.
This Jeep gets a lot of attention, not perfect, but quite a looker, starts and runs absolutely beautiful every time.
Many spare parts collected over the years (radiator, carbs, heater boxes, and much misc. parts)
Owned 22 years, and previous owner for 30 years!

That’s the first Mechanical Wench I’ve run across. I have found most wenches require hands-on assistance.
