Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (02/15/2013) Walter forwarded this CJ-2A. The seller says he has the arctic top, but it isn’t attached. I’m wondering if the pics are prior to the work that was done. It doesn’t have a title.
“I have a early 40s Willys Jeep, 4 cylinder runs good, looks to be rebuilt before I got it, 4 wheel works, body rusty but pretty solid, has anew gas tank, I think its a M38 Military type. All have been rewired and work. Also have the Artic Hard Top with it but its not attached. I have not driven it on the road but have driven it in the woods and it done well,”

(05/18/2013) “Up for sale is a 1946 Willys CJ2A. It has approx. 28,000 original miles. This truck is in very good condition considering its age. The truck runs great, get in turn the key and start it up. All of the gauges work, lights work, horn works. This truck would make a great restoration candidate, just needs a little TLC.”

“Willys jeep with freshly rebuilt motor. Locker rear axle, soft top, pretty clean and body straight. Over drive, low gears, power steering, winch, 33 Inch tires with spare and chrome rims, needs the head gasket replaced because the machine shop gave me the wrong one. I just need to pick it up and put it on.”

Runs and drives.
“This is a 46 Willys CJ 2A. It runs and drives. 4 cyl motor was rebuilt a few years ago. New fuel tank. New radiator. Usual tranny issue with these trannys is third gear only works sometimes. These trannys area a dime a dozen. T-case works as does the 4X4. Runs great. Converted to 12 V. Water temp, oil pressure,fuel gauge and speedometer work. Full rollbar and bikini top. Seats are a little rough looking but they are comfortable. Rear seat is a fold and tumble seat. Has seat belts. Body is in decent shape for a 1946. No major rust that cant be fixed or leave it alone and drive it. Ready to take deer hunting. Why buy a Rhino when you can buy this for. 1/3 of the price. The tow bar is working an ready to tow. Have title. Currently non- oped. Come take a look and drive it. $2,700OBO. Located in Loomis”
The seller lists this as having a 1945 title and matching VIN plate, but I don’t see any evidence it was a 1945. There’s been some repairs near the drain hole areas. The front frame rail on the driver’s side appears patched.
“For Sale: Really neat little 2-A for sale. Runs like a top and does not use or burn oil. Body has been sheet metaled on side and floors very neatly Military strapped frame with the bullet parking lights. Just bled brakes, etc and all guages work except fuel gauge. We put a heater in out of a willys pickup between the seats and built a small wall behind the seats. Compartment in back for hunting stuff and a coleman cook stove plus a extra gas can The tires are LT 235 85 R-16 and they don’t have 50 miles on them (650) dollars alone Most of the lights work but will need some attention. 1945 title and matching vin plate Please call 814-328-2879 or 814-590-7732 Windows roll up and down perfectly and seal up good. Real warm interior in the winter. Someone Bubba’d the frame horns some with a plow mount but still solid. REAL neat little 2-A with a real hard to find hard top 12 volt one wire alternator, etc, etc. Lots done to this little guy Could be put on the road easily or used for hunting, etc defrost fan mounted in cab along with electric wiper old manual plow can go with it Also will trade for a decent older Wrangler or CJ-7”
