Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This appears solid and early. This should be #13337 VEC CJ-2A.
“For sale is a very early 1946 CJ 2A VEC (Very early civilian) with a 5 digit serial number these were the first jeeps made immediately after the WW2 jeep, has many willys military parts such as floating rear axle, military style windshield, body side tool indents, etc… This Vec has the rare and valuable 3 speed on the column shifter. Engine has been completely gone through, runs like a top, jeep has been converted to 12V but have original 6v generator and regulator. Seats have new canvas, starts, drives and stops well. Some body work needed these jeeps in restored condition sell for upwards of $15,000. This one is for sale for $6500”

“1946 Willys CJ2A, military clone beautifully restored to military specifications; runs and drives well new fuel pump and battery. This vehicle has been in storage for the past 20 years receiving meticulous maintenance. Must see to appreciate this wonderful time capsule. Jeep comes with many accessories including full canvas top.”

ALL ORIGINAL with all frame and body ID plates & instruction dash 4X4 plates. Runs excellent & 4X4 all in good working condition. Frame unmolested & in excellent condition. Original Warn 2 lever Dualmatic locking hubs. Body needs help.
This 67 year old jeep spent most of its life on a CA desert 80 acre cotton farm pulling a small utility trailer with field worker tools.”

The body may be solid, but it appears to have some dings.
“1948 willys jeep. It has been converted to 12 volt. The motor is original inline 4 f head. It runs great and its not a rust bucket. The only things that needs to be done is bleed the brakes. I also have a tandom axle trailer that I use to haul the jeep on . The trailer is 10 ft long. I would sell the two together for 5900 dollars .”
