This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (11/11/2012) Plenty of diamond plating on this rig. It runs on propane, too.
“Alright up for sale is my 1948 willys, this jeep is in perfect order mechanically. Right now it is my daily driver and runs flawlessly, absolutely no rust on the body at all! This includes a brand new body and overdrive, but is still a project.
“I have a project 1948 Willy’s Jeep for sale. About 3 years ago I started tearing the jeep down so I could rebuild it from the ground up. I purchased a brand new body for the project. I sand blasted and painted the frame and axles. Became too busy with other things and stopped working on it. Has a split transmission with a over drive which is cool and very rare. The motor is a 302 ford with racing pistons, wild cam shaft, clevland 351 heads and much more. I believe most stuff is there except a missing hood and a few other small parts. A very cool project for somebody, need to sell asap, wish I had the time and money.”

(11/25/2012) The seller provides a variety of details on the rebuild.
“This Jeep has been carefully rebuilt from the ground up over 3 years by my father, a retired certified ASEA mechanic. Starting from a sandblasted frame, new-off-shelf (N.O.S) parts were used whenever possible. Every piece has been carefully rebuilt and reassembled – you won’t find a cleaner, or more authentic rebuild of a 1947 Willy’s. Lots of fun to take off-road, or cruise around town with the windshield down. See below for details on each component.”

The other pics are a little dark, but it’s generally pretty stock. The front bumper is unusual.
“1946 willys military jeep, original flathead four cylinder, 3 speed manual transmission, 4 wheel drive with hi and low, has been converted to 12 volt, runs and drives good, brakes work well also, very solid body, front left CV joint will click when turned real sharp and it will leave a small spot of oil when parked, good title, these jeeps are getting hard to find, please call or text only”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,000.
The seller notes only 200 column shift CJ-2A’s were made. Given Willys produced the column shift through VIN #38221, I’d say the seller is off by 28,000. Now, if this were a CJ-2 it might be more interesting.
“This is a column shift very rare only made 200 of them made. It runs but need brakes new master cylinder,new gas tank,new timing set,all original except paint. color is green.have owned for 54 years.”

This looks great. Too bad it has a later motor.

This looks good (at least from a distance). It has a column shift.
“Very early jeep, nice running driving example. Rare collumn shift, godevil flathead 134ci kickout wind shield, all orig 6volt system. Runs & drives and stops like it should. This is the first year for the cj. Everything prior was military. I would consider trades.”
