About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This is listed as a 1949, but is a 1948 based on the serial number. Unclear how much value is here, but it does have a Sears/Allstate-branded deluxe top.
“1949 Willy’s Jeep CJA. Flathead 4 cylinder motor. It has been sitting but the motor moves freely. It’s all there, transmission, radiator, carburator. Would consider trade. DM any questions”
“Any message asking me if it’s available we’ll be deleted. Barn fresh 1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. It needs body work. Engine not stuck. I have been adding automatic transmission fluid to the cylinders over the last 6 months. The vehicle is 95% complete. Also has very rare PTO option in rear. I do have the windshield. An excellent project. $2,500 or best offer”
“STOLEN VEHICLE! Please keep an eye out for this Willy’s Jeep. It was stolen from my father-in-law’s property in Mound House, NV. It has been reported to the local authorities.”
This looks nice, though neither the windshield nor the body have been restored to original. The transmission shifter is on the floor, rather than the column.
“Looking to sell my cj2a 1945 Willys sn-601. 3606 miles from frame off restoration. 500 miles from new paint to 1945 color sheme. I have a binder of the details, spare tire mounted on extra tailgate, green canvas top, shop manual and assorted jeep stuff/parts that goes with it. It is great! Just looking for a new project to nerd out on. NADA has it between 26k and 43k. An offer between that and I’ll sell it. Located 19947. Meeting location will be at the Harbeson Royal Farms. Cash or Certified Check. I’ll remove listing once sold. Added more pics Friday night. Captured a video of it running. PM me and I’ll send it to you.”
“1948 Jeep Willys classic for sale. Replaced engine, transmission, and new body, just needs a paint job and it’s your dream come true. Message me for more info. Runs and drives good. $10,000 OBO must sell. I do have the old tub as well”
“I am selling a 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep. As you probably know, this is the first generation post war civilian Jeep. I bought three of these and am restoring the second one, and have decided to sell this one off. As seen in the pictures, I have a very good, usable front clip for this Jeep, two T-90 transmissions a Dana 18 transfer case and a Dana 44 rear axle (an upgrade if you choose to use it).
The main tub, tailgate and seat frames will need to be replaced. I have purchased two repo Jeep bodies and they work out very well (happy to help you with this process if you decide to buy a new body). Or, you may find a used tub that could be used. As I mentioned, I have restored two of these and have lots of info and resources for parts, etc. I developed a four page spreadsheet just to document the hardware required and where it is used. “I have a 1947 CJ2A 350 small block and 4 speed sm465 2wd project in the works. The mounts are all welded in and I many of the parts. I have body panels that need repair as well. Decent fenders grille and windshield. I’m looking for trade for very small hard shelled camp trailer like a scamp or similar or a Harley, any year or V-twin model also interested in a Kawasaki Drifter made to look like an Indian (either motor is ok).
Let me know what you have, basket cases are fine too. Preferably an 84 or newer but I’m willing to see what’s out there.
Big items the jeep needs is to complete the steering setup and get a 2wd DJ front axle(I found one) I will get it and pass it along with the trade. I have brand new bearing and pistons in the 350 and bought used recent rebuild heads, may need to be taken apart and put together again same parts, mostly there. Big AMC 20 rear axle with 11” brakes, have a dual hydraulic master cylinder and a set of swing pedals. The frame was sandblasted. Has new tires but very hard as load rating is high. Im sure this would be fun when completed.
I value it between 2500 and 3500 (with front axle) and will keep working on it.”
