This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I am selling this for my father. He doesn’t have a computer and is to the point where he cant see and hear well so I am doing this for him. I apologize up front if I don’t have all of the information for you. He bought this several years ago with the idea of rebuilding it to be just like the one he drove as a kid. He didn’t get that far on it. I actually just pulled it out of his garage, hosed it off and took the pictures. Nothing fancy here. It is a vehicle in need of complete restoration. He said he drove it in, so I know it ran/runs. The clutch works though I am sure they could use some attention to make the lever work better. I think he was working on the brakes when he stopped working on it. It needs all kinds of work on the body, lots of rust issues as you can see from the pictures. It looked to me like the frame has been repaired in places. He was talking about buying new fenders and body parts, I suppose they are available on line. The canvas is in decent shape, may be an issue with some of the clear plastic. The seats look decent. The rubber tires look average except for the one that is flat, it will need replacement. The inside of the bed will need to be straightened. It looks like it had somebody heavy stand on it and it dips just a bit over the underside frame, I don’t know if you can see it in the pictures. And some thing got on it and bubbled the paint there, but of course, it would need new paint everywhere. If you would like to see it, it is near Ft Campbell, KY.”

The column shift is gone, but the hubs and tool indents are there.

This jeep is apart.
“i have a 1946 jeep willys. it is currently taken apart for rebuilding purposes. i do not have a title but it is easily obtained so i will write a bill of sale. i have 2 tubs. One i fixed up and replaced all of the rusted through spots, the other being a donor tub for brackets and such. The frame and axles were sprayed with primer recently. I have new parts to put the chassis together. I have the original t-90 transmission and spicer 18 twin stick transfercase. I do not have the original 4 cylinder engine because i was doing a v8 swap with a 302. i also have the rest of the body (hood, grill, ect.) along with the oringinal 4 tires/rims. Im a busy student and have no time out of my studies to complete this project. It would be a fairly simple rebuild if you have experience in mechanics. All in all this would make a sweet project if you have the mechanical knolwege. i would like to get $1000 out of it but would be open to reasoable offers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $29,000. It appears to have a column shift.
“This 1946 Willys Jeep, Ser. # 13241 has been totally restored to new condition and I have the old parts. It has no miles, I have taken to shows on a trailer. I am 78 and get my kicks from building/restoring, not driving. I will sell or trade for a newer model Wrangler or Rubicon, V/6, auto with low miles of like value.”

This looks like a solid militarized CJ-2A.
“1947 WILLYS CJ2A, VIN 98722, dressed up as a WWII Willys MB jeep, (IT IS NOT A WWII JEEP), the previous owner started the rebuild, he repaired the body, gas tank, put new seals and bearings as needed in front axle, transmission/transfercase, new shocks…we finished the rebuild with…complete professional rebuild of engine, (machine shop charges were $1747) and that did not include any labor, (see photo), Rick has been a personal friend almost 40 years and does these jeep engines as a favor, as he usually builds high horsepower race engines, original Willys air breather, new clutch, went through rear axle with new wheel cylinders, seals, brake shoes, new steel lines, new rubber lines, new master cylinder, steering bell crank bearing kit, new 12 volt alternator, new battery, new wiring with soldered connections, new WWII olive drab paint, military canvas seat cushions, new WWII oil can/bracket under hood, new WWII MB exhaust system, new temperature gauge, all lights work, including headlights (new switch), bright/dim, parking marker lights, bright light indicator, dash light, tail/stop light, backup light, WWII fender blackout drive light/bracket (has a NOS 1942 6 volt bulb) with volt reducer, horn, siren on fender works (use only in parades), WWII dual hand wipers, hood strap to hold windshield down while driving, has WWII style windshield hold down latches on hood (for looks only). 4 new 6:00 X 16 inch NDT military style tires on original CJ wheels, spare is an original NDT tire (is weather cracked, but has new tube), military gas can/holder and strap, pintle hood, Willys MB bumperettes, heavy duty M38 front bumper with lift brackets, new WWII steering wheel, M38 tailgate is bolted closed for the WWII look.”
