About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This is rough with rust. It appears to have a twist looking from the front.
“For Sale a 1947 Willys Jeep with a Clear Title Starts up and sounds good Not the original engine. Has the same # of my friends 1952 army jeep. Was told buy owner that engine had been rebuilt. Then parked in 2003. I put a new gas tank in it & points, master cylnder,& brake lines, plugs. Started up. I have driven it around my yard, but the brakes don’t work. “Selling my black plate 1947 Willys Jeep CJ2a, it’s an early model with the rare column shift. Original color beige.
I have brand new parts for about 1000$, still in the box that comes with it.
The car is unmolested, very original, very little rust.
Comes with two sets of wheels, the original size and a slightly bigger size.
Try to take some pictures today.”
“This is Willys CJ2A S/N 185318, a documented Lefty, as discussed in “Calling All Leftys” on The CJ2A Forum. This is a PROJECT!! It needs EVERYTHING restored. Mostly complete vehicle, rusty body and frame. Frame has been repaired, repaired again, needs more repair now. Body has been off frame, repaired, welded in floors, panels and needs more repair now. Engine, drive train are stock, non running, looks complete, I haven’t tried. Has a rear PTO unit, but needs repair also. As per PO, this Jeep was running when put into storage about 5 years ago. I added stock KH 16″ rims with oversized 7;50X16 tires, took out bucket seats, added stock left seat frame. RH seat is not stock, maybe Crosley. The dash tag is very readable with CJ2A-185318. The frame tag is missing. The ACM Number looks like 17?579 and others in that neighborhood show the third digit might be a 5 or 6. Buyer will research further. This is very near the end of Lefty production as per Willys Service Bulletin 48-27 and less than 20 have been accounted for making this a very worthwhile project. Sold with a Bill of Sale only as Maine is a non title state. I can license and insure legally in Maine as it is. What you need in your state is up to your DMV at your expense. Email me at glenns@tdstelme.net and I’ll send pix and complete details. Don’t bother me with silly questions like, “How are the hat channels?”. Like I said, EVERYTHING needs repair. Understand this, EVERY bolt will be turned. What level you take this restoration to is up to you. If a real Lefty in your garage is on your bucket list, here it is for $2000. Might partial Willys trade. Call 207-491-one,two,three,Four. Glenn”
“Injury keeps me from wheeling and putting my rig back together. I Have 12inch brakes waiting to go on and a locker in the rear and one for the front tranny and transfer case are out the motor needs to be installed again frame has been strapped 2 inch lift with a body lift also I have ran most of the trails south of Seattle and all of the Naches trail. I could haul on my car trailer to you after you come see it and we agree on the sale.”
It’s not much, but if it is straight, it’s a good start.
“For sale is a frame, wheels, tires, and steering column. What you see is what you get. I am looking to get $300 but I am open to all offers. Please email or text me at (nine-7-two)8-nine-6-one-7-six-7.”
The seller says this runs, but also says this ran when parked.
“$1900 obo. Runs, but needs restored. Good tires and drivetrain. Will sell or trade. Have the title. Ran when parked. Belonged to neighbors grandpa. Best offer or trade”
