Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have A 1949 CJ2 Willys Jeep for sale. Everything is original except for the vinyl top. Jeep Runs and drives. Does have a little rust on the drivers side floor pan under gas tank, and gas tank does leak a little, od quit working about a month ago. . i’ve included some pictures. Price is 5500.00 obo. There looks like value here. Unclear if it runs.

The drain holes are blocked, suggesting some body work has been done. The bumper area has been modified as well.

(10/12/2012) This looks good, except for the area near the passenger side fender. It may just be an optical illusion, but it looks kind of odd.
“Sold my storage building…no place to keep it. 1948 (it’s actually a 1947) Willys Jeep. Five new tires. Engine completely overhauled. Runs great! Converted to 12V. email for details and to set up appointment to see it. May consider trades for antique things that go bang. The color of the first two pictures is correct…the third picture is in direct sunlight.”

(09/20/2012) Lots of updates including winches on both front and rear.
“This is a 1947 flat fender Willys Jeep (CJ2A) Original body and frame are from 1947.
• It has 11 inch ford brakes in the front and stops well.
• No rust
• Includes new steering gear
• New Saginaw steering components
• Removable top with fully enclosed side doors with windows
• I also have metal half side doors
• New gas shocks front and rear,
• 302 Ford Bronco V8 all cylinders read high and even compression
• No leaks anywhere
• Suspension and body lifts
• Upgraded leaf springs from Super Lift
• Drive train has been upgraded
• Ford T-18 four speed transmission
• Original transfer case and axles
• 33×10.50×15 Super Swamper tires on chrome rims
• All gages work and are original
• Front winch is Pierce Electric
• Rear winch is Ramsey PTO
This jeep is set up for rock crawling and rough terrain, it goes anywhere. Do to low axle ratios (5:38) highway speeds are not recomended. Everything on this jeep works and works well! I have owned it for 32 years and was in my family prior to that. I guess you could say it has out lived me….”

This appears to be a M-38 with bow holders on the side and bow holders at the rear corners. Very odd.
“I have for sale a 1947 Willys military model Jeep. It was used in the Navy. It is all original except for the motor. The motor is a Dauntless 225 v6. It runs great. I also have the doors for the to and three extra tires to go with the Jeep.”

Bruce spotted this unusual flattie.
“We have a 1946 Willys jeep that was passed down from my grandfather. It was running last year but had some bad fuel and needs a carb job and a clean tank of fuel. Engine and transmission in great shape, but the suspension needs to be replaced. The body is very much restorable. I am only interested in serious offers on this Jeep…No tire kickers please. Im not sure on the KM’s, but had to put in something. 4000$ OBO”
