About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

(07/13/2010) Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain) once said that the coldest winter he ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco. Well, I lived in Aptos (just south of Santa Cruz, Cali) for several years and I’d argue it’s summers were every bit as cold or colder than SF when that damn fog rolled in, which seemed to be every evening! Fortunately, I only had to drive to the next town (1 mile away) and the fog would disappear …
Anyway, here’s a nice looking CJ-2A that lived somewhere close to where I was (aptos is a pretty tiny town).
“1947 Willy’s jeep original everything, under 8k miles been garaged most of it’s life and really wants to go 4 wheeling. no rust, no dents engine still looks shiny and new. If you have wanted a Willy’s this is your chance to start with the original right down to the military style tires! everything works great, runs great just needs a home with less vehicles so it can be driven. Paid 8k for this awesome truck back a few years ago it has been driven twice since then. I just don’t have the time and too many cars. So come give this little red jeep a good home I would like to get 6000. but will consider all offers. I can hear her crying in the garage wanting to go out to the wide open trails, someone come help her out.”
“1948 cj2a 4×4. Has original engine, starts but smokes. considering all offers. have title. Vehicle sold as is and would need to be towed. asking 1000 obo”
I sure think that is a fiberglass body. I don’t see any body seams.
“Clear AZ title.1948 Willy’s flat fender JP body style, strong stock running gear. I recently replaced all steering linkage, Battery, alternet-regulator and Brake master cylinder. Immaculate apperance, body and interior.”
(10/10/09) There’s nothing I see to indicate this is a M-38 body, accept for the dash panel. But, it’s missing the battery box lid, the jockey box in the dash, drain holes, and a gas inlet at the very least.
“Up for sale is a nice 1946 Willys the original four cylinder is out and I have it but there is a V-6 under the hood and runs out good with lots of power. It is a M-38 Military body. There are 35-12.5-15’s on the jeep now but I also have a new set of 31”s for the jeep if you want smaller tires. This is ONE SWEET JEEP!!! Call for more Imf. ”
“1946 CJ2A. Western vehicle, stored winters, very solid. Has three speed column shift. Comes with both aluminum hard and original soft top. Heater works. Jeep is blue, but original green paint shows in some locations. Third photo shows tool box floor – only surface rust, not rusted through like you find in many. Family owned for many years prior to my purchase. Starts and runs, stops fine. Shifting is a bit tricky and could use adjustment, but otherwise good to go. This was going to be a keeper, but unfortunately I need to sell. I’m pretty firm on price, but will entertain reasonable offers. Serious inquiries only please. I prefer if you contact me on my cell phone 608-212-3995 with questions.”
“46 Willies Jeep, Steel Body, 225 Buick V-6, Frame is a 76 Jeep Box Frame, Dana 44 axels’ Front & Rear W/lockers, 3:73 gear Ratio, 4 speed transmission, T-18 Transfer Case, 4 wheel Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Electric Wipers. $5500.00 or best reasonable offer.”
This has some serious rust. However, I think I see some tool indents, which suggests a VEC.
“1946 Willy’s. Has rust in tub and floor. No engine, but have most components, transmission, transfer case, starter, carburator, altenator, air cleaner, etc… Tow bar and tail gate in good condition. Dog house has been removed, but is all there. $500 OBO. Please leave a voice mail at 502.419.3772. No Title”
This looks to have a solid Beck Hardtop. This might not be a bad price.
