Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “A great hobbyist project. Garaged for 20 years. Complete roll cage, telescopic steering wheel, new shocks, new springs, 350 Chevy engine, muncie 4 speed, all 4 disc brakes, custom aluminum gas tank, 90% rust removed, frame reinforced, swamp tires (12 inch wide).”

(02/13/10) This needs some work. The seller honestly admits there is a crack in the transfercase.
“215 olds V8, 5.38 gears, lockright locker, rebuilt engine, transmission, transfer case, clutch, starter, and brakes. It still need work, tires, top, shock mount repaired, and some wireing. There is a crack in the transfer case, but it has been there for 10 years, isn’t getting any bigger, and only leaks a little. This was my daily driver for 10+ years. I have wheeled it a lot, and it can go places I won’t. If you are over 5′ 10″, you probably won’t fit. 831 278-0047”

The seller doesn’t know how serious they are.
“I am testing the water” I have a 1946 Willys CJ2A in running condition. The Body has been patched up and is somewhat presentable. looks good as it drives by. It has the original flat top 4cl engine. The electrical has been updated to 12v. The brake wheel cyls. and master were replaced 3 years ago but now not functioning correctly. When you brake it pulls hard to one side. The steering has had some parts updated. Original seats have been recovered. It has old chrome rims with tires that are shot. I have the original rims but they will need restoration. The water pump was replaced 2 years ago as well as the exhaust. The frame is in fair shape. Put a glass tub and some new springs and drive it. It also has a tow bar. As stated I am testing the water. I would like to trade it for a CJ5 or CJ7. Maybe some other type of convertable. please send Pics and discription of what you have…”

“This old jeep runs and drives! It’s licensed with new plates and has new none directional tires with less than 50 miles on them. I had the carb rebuilt a month ago. Still needs a little fine tune. I have a tow bar that fits it great so if you have a two inch ball on your truck your ready to pull it home. The old jeep also has a new battery. I’m open to trade for old rat rods,model a truck or coupe,or old cushmans. I’m not really looking for much else, cash is always best. My very best price is 2,900 firm. Please keep in mind it runs and drives and has license now! and the tires with mounting for none directional are expensive”l

“1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep VIN/Serial 72467. What we have up for grabs here is a “Hot Rod” (or perhaps it is best described as a “Resto-Mod Version” thereof)! You see, the JEEP RUNS GREAT WITH NO PROBLEMS thanks to the “fire breathing” Chevy 4.3 Liter V-6 (out of a Monte Carlo 1985). (02/18/2010) Brett forward me a link that lead me to several items from KSL’s website (in salt lake city), here’s a ’46 that appears pretty solid. This is located in Eastern Idaho. Note there’s another jeep next to the one for sale, but no indication as to whether that’s for sale or not.”

(02/12/2010) This has some unusual features. It’s an ugly duckling of sorts. I’m kind of digging that crazy hood — not sure what’s wrong with me — it’s a strange one. If you can easily get the engine going, this might be an interesting project. And what’s on the front of the grille?
