Mechanically in all around sound shape. 4 cylinder, starts and runs great. recent work done on the jeep. New fuel tank, and fuel level gauge. Brakes were replaced approx. 2 years ago. (01/12/10) This CJ-2A has a few interesting features. One is the spare tire holder, which uses a strategy I’m considering for my build. Also, this jeep runs the treadwright retread tires.
“1949 CJ2A – Excellent (not perfect) condition. Has been redone from the ground up. A must see. Starts, runs, steers, brakes. Many features including a Warn overdrive, Tulsa Ramsey winch (electric), Saginaw steering, 12 volt electric system with alternator and modern lights. I have used it – it is not a garage decoration. Engine was torn down, did not need rebuilt/bored…and was filled with new parts. Transmission and Transfer case have been rebuilt. Has a dual master cylinder. Parking brake works.”
