Here’s a running CJ-2A with a fiberglass body for only $800. Sounds like a great price to me.
“I have s Jeep Willys CJ2A the odometer reads 75,000 but it could have turned over or could have been replaced. It runs good on the choke (it needs carb work) the frame seems to be in really good condition, the body is fiberglass and seems to be in okay shape there is some cracks and chips. It will run and move under its own power, the clutch doesn’t engage right probably from sitting, the transmission shifts fine all three gears and the transfer case work, but the levers are worn so it’s kind of hard to switch gears in the transfer case. It also appears to have half a 12 volt electrical system in it, meaning it starts and runs on 12 but all the lights are still 6. I have the doors to with the top and a parts CJ2A to go with it. $800 obo. Call me at (802)-223-2752”
UPDATE: Originally listed at $8000, a long time reader James bought this for less than half that price. It’s a steal! And, it includes a stainless grille, which he plans to sell as well, reducing the purchase price even more, because the previous owner threw in the original grille which James will paint and reinstall. Nicely done James!
James writes, “this is a 1946 VEC CJ-2A #18526, column shift, driver’s indents, no rust. original docs and rear glass light”
Here’s some pics he included:
Here’s more information included from the original Craigslist Ad:

Here’s a VEC with a VIN #11325.
“This is an early 46 # 11325 ( some might call it a 45). It was a column shift and somebody put it on the floor. It has military differentals, windshield hardware, steering wheel and oil filter that says (military standard) on it.. This is a running jeep that could be put on the road. All I can see it needs to be original is a driver seat and be put back to column shift. The gas tank has had a few holes plugged, and is not leaking. The body is in good shape and has very little rot for its age as you can see in the pictures.”
This is a nice looking VEC #11425.
You are bidding on a 1946 CJ2A VIN # 11425.This willys is registered as a 46 but could be a 45 due to VIn number being so low.Last vin in 45 was 11824 this is 11425 out of 1824 built that first year released to public. This willys is Michigan Yellow with sunset red rims ( no black stripe ) I bought this Willys in December and have driven it around for about 400 miles. I lost my job so now the toy has to go.My lose is your gain.”
“We have a 1947 Willy’s Jeep, white with Blue seats and top. It was pieced together with 1942, 46 and 47 parts in the late 1980’s, trailered from Arkansas to Michigan in the early 1990’s and has been stored in a pole barn since then. The body is in good condition, the engine runs, it does drive but it does seem to ‘eat’ batteries. My husband and I don’t have the time or resources to work on the jeep and hate to see it set. It comes with the spare tire and the gas can that hooks to the side. There is a title to this jeep, and it was licensed back in 1994.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7888

Not much information about this other than it has a 5 speed. It appears to have either an MB or GPW body. Those are some really short seats! The VIN is #3547499.
“Up for sale is my 1948 Willys CJ2A, you might have seen it around town. This Jeep was rebuilt from the ground up in 2000 by the pryer owner. It will need an enigne do to a rod cap bolt that snaped all cased by the pryer owner who did not replace the rod cap bolts during the rebuild. (Always replace any engine bolt that requires a torque spec!) It is in stock form with a (chain driven) 134 L-head with only 3,000 miles on it…..”
