This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I can’t tell much about the body from the pics.
“i have a 1947 willys jeep in good shape, no rust on body or inside just bit under. has brand new engine with 40 miles on it and new transmission with 300 miles on it. front disc brakes, lockers front and back. with lockable hubs all four tires so you can tow it nice and easy and choose what tire you want to spin. im intrested in a bumper trailer or toyota motorhome.”

This jeep looks fantastic, but I am surprised someone would do all this work and not replace the 41 rear end with a Dana 44. Note that this is the original tub, but the tailgate has been carefully removed.
“1949 Willys CJ-2A Jeep which has been mildly customized and modified for off-road and everyday usage around town. This Jeep has been professionally done with attention to detail and function, incorporating many modern upgrades yet still keeping the period CJ-2A look. Although this Jeep has the look and capabilities for serious off-roading it has never been driven on anything but hard surfaced highways. It has been re-powered with a Chevrolet 283 small block backed by Muncie 4-speed transmission and goes like a bat-out-of-hell, but has plenty of low-end torque for any situation.”

This looks like a nice CJ-2A. It does have some rough spots on the rear left corner.
“1946 Willys CJ2A SN:53163 Clear Oregon title. Jeep has had frame off restoration with some exceptions. Floors have been pached wear needed or replaced. Hat channels have been repaired wear needed or replaced. There are three thin spots that have been cleaned on the tub can be bondoed but I prefer not to use it. I have tried to leave as original as possible. Jeep is approx. 90% original, engine is out of a 49 Willys PU. Oil psi about 55 when operating 40 @ an idle. Approx. 200mi. on a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing…..”
UPDATE: The price rose from $3000 to $3500. Still no pics. It’s been for sale since last April.
Here’s one I missed that’s in Pullman, Wa. No pics were included in the Ad.
“I am selling my 1948 willies jeep. Been updated with a buick V-6 and tilt steering wheel. nice interior, seats are in great shape. The top is in good shape some stiches coming loose on the drivers door around the window. Great oversized tires on centerline rims. Diamond plating, spare tire and 2 jerry can fuel cans. The jeep runs great lots of power and would make an awesome restoration project. I was going to restore it but dont have the time. The body is straight and clean, very little surface rust and the floor boards are pretty solid. Also has a full roll bar. Might be a blast to drive this summer, heck who knows join a jeep club and tour the woods. It’s just a fun thing to drive. It has a new master cylinder but needs the slave cylinders replaced. I have checked and they are $8.95/ea. most jeep parts are pretty cheap. Call for pics. 509-432-3952”
UPDATE: This jeep is back on ebay. Now also on Craigslist for $6500.
Here’s a 1947 CJ-2A with lots of pics on eBay. I keep thinking I’ve seen this one, but I couldn’t find it in a search of past posts. Maybe it was bought and is being resold?
“Seats are Bestop Trailmax. Low back height fit the small style of the Jeep. Great Hot Rod look. I had tried tall back seats with five point harnesses but they were too restricting and did not look proportional. Lap belts are just the five point harnesses. I just buckle them around the waist and just let the shoulder belts lay there….”
David and his friends transport themselves back in time each each fall by getting out their jeeps, heading to the woods, and cleaning brush, trees and other obstacles out of the way in preparation for winter snowmobiling in New York.
David’s owned his (the gray ’51 CJ-3A) for six years. His friends have owned their 1947 CJ-2A and 1949 CJ-3A for about 25 years. Thanks for sharing David.

Nice looking CJ-2A. It looks like there isn’t a tailgate, but I can’t tell for sure from the pics.
“1947 Willys CJ2-A. Semi-Pro restoration about 10 years ago, clear & clean title. Orginal L-Head motor, 3 speed on the floor. 4×4 (works great too!) Nice 31×15 inch General tires w/ rancho shocks. What Ive added (since Ive owned it). Brand new speedo (shows two hundred sixty-some miles)Sun Pro Tach, Cobra CB Radio w/ 102 rear bumper mounted antenna. AIWA Cd player w/ MP3 jack & speakers (NOT permanant – only zip-tied). Electric radiator fan w/ switch on dash. Front bumper mount off road lights (easily removable). Oil change at start of summer, new plugs, just replaced the entire fuel line from tank to fuel bowl (and new fuel filter). She does run very well, however she will not do a DIME over 55mph (and thats pushing it!)…”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5750.
This CJ-2A looks well built. The chev 350 and radiator are neatly placed into the engine compartment without modifying the fenders. It’s got a good looking roll cage as well.

“Thsi rust-free Jeep has a 4 cylinder engine and 3 speed transmission with overdrive; hi/lo range and 4 wheel drive with lockout hubs. It has 12 forward speeds with the overdrive and can cruise along at highway speeds.It has the original type top with removable doors; a back seat; dual windshield wipers; a radio, heater and defroster fan. In all- about $3000.00 worth of option”
Something appears to have been done to the bumper, but otherwise this looks like it could make a great, pretty easy restoration project.
“This is a very collectable 1948 CJ2A Jeep Willys- I am firm on the price of this 60 year old vehicle. It runs good and has the original engine. I have done some restoration which includes:
