Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This jeep’s body looks pretty straight. It looks like there is a muffler on the driver side, but none on the passenger side?
“I have a 1946 jeep willy’s. I bought it to restore and got too busy with work and family, I would like to sell it, great for hunting or wheeling. 231 Buick motor almost new top, runs great. fairly new tires power steering but needs new hose, has a new aluminum radiator has a few dents and dings. has aluminum fender well covers with rear seat attached. Given this is a non-running project that has had some mods done to it, the price is a little high. I don’t see any obvious rust on the body and the back looks pretty straight, but I can’t see much more from these pics.

Get out your welder. This might be a decent deal depending on how good the condition of the body is.

James found this cj-2a with a m38 body on Craigslist for $2,000. He pounced on it immediately. I'm not sure how I missed it during my searches! Just goes to show I can't find them all.
This is an excellent find, especially since the body is in excellent condition reports James. It's also one of the best California deals I've seen …
Here’s an early CJ-2A with the column shift. The seller doesn’t not indicate whether it runs or not, but it looks whole — it looks like it might run. Obviously, the hood and windshield are a bit rough.

“1946 CJ2A: Frame off restoration with 4200 miles. New 1967 Buick 225 V-6/300 hp. Boxed in frame for winch support. Titanium alloy “Rock Crusher” rims. Gas filled guages. Custom built 15 gallon fuel tank under back seat. Jeep Wrangler seats. All original and completely rebuilt runnung gear. Best top and doors. Original and rebuilt Willys heater that will keep you warm. Warn overdrive and hubs. Custom top mounted pedals. Chevrolet steering box and tilt wheel from 1967 Camero. This is a fine looking CJ-2A sporting a M-38 body. The rims are interesting.

This is one of the most rusted flat fenders I think I've ever seen. Next, I noticed the rear PTO water pump, which was cool. Then I noticed the solid back — no tailgate, yet the body doesn't look like a MB/GPW. It's hard for me to believe that this jeep rusted so much while in storage.
