The engine is a Buick V6 odd fire, 4-speed manual, the exact mileage is unknown because the previous owner did not reset the odometer while doing the engine swap. “This rare “flat fender” jeep has a rebuilt engine, new OEM carb, new tires, front springs, exhaust, new brake lines, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. I have checked and lubed the front and rear axles, and driven it around the block after putting it back together for my winter project.
I got this years ago as a complete “field find” and would run. It had been converted to 12V with alternator. However, I noticed milky oil due to head gasket leakage, and it had no brakes. The engine was pulled and inspected, cleaned and found cylinders had been bored and the pistons/rings in good shape. It was then reassembled with new bearings and gaskets.
I replaced the master cylinder, all the brake lines and installed new wheel cylinders. I did not replace the old drums and brake shoes. I cleaned and repacked the front hubs/wheel bearings and the front and rear differentials covers were pulled to inspect gears and add new gear oil. This winter it was further restored with a new carburetor, new exhaust system, new tires, and new front springs/shackles. The rusty floor was treated and painted with POR15 and the body was sanded and hand painted with red rustoleum.
It starts easily and I have driven it around the block, but needs additional work before being “road worthy” such as new brake drums/shoes, wiring for lights and gauges, and oil leaks from the tranny/transfer case.”

The front bumper/frame rails have been modified, but otherwise this may be fairly stock.

Tom spotted this jeep. Described as “in near perfect condition, it looks like the rear portion of the tub has been repaired/modified and it lacks a tailgate. The front looks in good condition. Listed as a 1948, it may actually be a 1949 CJ-3A.

“1948 jeep willys does not have motor or trans it use to have a v8 chevy in it. I have 77 Chevy truck frame and running gear I’m including with the jeep it was a short bed frame it has a turbo 400 with 205 transfercase sale for 3500 or obo or trade for a gooseneck trailer”

This has some Allstate or Husky hubs. It looks rough for the price.

“1949 Willy’s CJ, great little jeep, don’t use it as much as I planned, runs good, needs the oil pump gasket replaced, little drip going right onto the exhaust, haven’t gotten around to fixing it. Pretty clean body was redone awhile ago. Only trades would be for an older 12 valve”
