This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 Willys CJ-2a, mid year jeep, 3 speed on the floor. This jeep has all the parts including extra 1944 engine and another t-90 trans and t-18 transfer case. Original engine Does not currently run, may be stuck, haven’t tried to turn yet. Disassembly was begun ( grill, hood, windshield and right fender removed). Needs tires. Needs some typical floor work but is really in decent condition. This jeep is worth the work. I will not part it out, I will keep it instead. $2500, no title or registration, bill of sale only.”

“Good running Jeep Willys for sale. 283 Chevy Small Block engine. Has after market solid tubed frame. YJ leaf springs custom mounted. Custom fabricated front and rear bumpers with hitch receiver. Has original transfer case and trans in it. I have a SM420 trans with all the parts to make it new in a bin that I will throw in with it. Also have a hard top and doors that will go with it. Jeep runs and drives. Have title in hand. It does need a custom drive shaft made for front still as suspension drops out to far for the original to work. I still have the original drive shaft and a few other misc parts I will throw in with it. 4×4 does work. Has a inside floor heater in it as well that works. Original Jeep Willys seats I re-padded and put fabric on. Tires are brand new muds. Sad to see it go but I have no choice. 5000 OBO.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
Lots of mods. Needs work.
“I have a 1946 Willy’s Jeep cj2a. This is a great start to an easy project.
-350 v8 motor that’s in running condition
-400 tranny that matches up to it it’s automatic
-body has no rust anywhere to be fond and minimal surface rust that I’m sanding away today.
-the rear axle is out of a yota to match up to the Chevy 350.
-air ride suspension is hooked up in the rear and in great shape.
-the tires are more roaster stlyle tires and they are near brand new.
-the brakes need worked on because they have very low pressure and don’t work well enough for road worthiness and a new fuel pump and fuel lines hooked up to be running driving and stopping as is. I’m going to be working on it periodically and as I do more work to it the price will increase.”

UPDATE (From April 15th): This CJ-2A is listed as a 1946 CJ-2A without a price, but it has a serial number plate of 18132(incorrectly riveted to the body) that suggests it is a 1948 model. Yet, what appears to be the same jeep is listed here and the ad claims it has a serial number of 193346, again listed without a price. Finally, it’s listed in a third ad for $19,777.
Seller claims to have 125 jeeps for sale, but I’m guessing most are newer jeeps.
