“Great little 1947 Jeep Willy’s CJ2A..
Original Willy’s flat head four cylinder engine, runs great.
Good tires.
Seats in great shape.
Fun to drive, will climb a wall!
Needs Brakes.
It’s not perfect, it’s a 71 year old Jeep. ”
This was the seller’s father’s jeep and he admits he doesn’t know a lot about it. Seller seems convinced it’s a WWII jeep. It is a nice example of an early 2A jeep, though strangely it doesn’t have tool indents (#24566)
“Now is your chance to finally own a World War 2 Army Jeep! A great addition to any collection, this one was used by a VIP at the Estrella Warbird Museum in Paso Robles, CA until my Dad bought it 6 years ago. What makes this Jeep different is that it has a working siren and flashing amber light in the rear – great for parades and car shows. It also has a column shifter which is rare on these models.
Here is what else it has:
• Period correct WWII patinaed paint, canvas top and upholstery.
• Period correct tires.
• Appears to be original body, hood, floors – oh, the stories they could tell.
• Oil pan with skid plate.
• Authentic M-1 rifle holder with reproduction rifle.
• Shovel, axe, jerry can, portable water canteen and a mortar canister (just in case).
• Hand grenade shift knob.
• New brakes, drums and brake lines.
• New carburetor, battery and shocks.
• Lockable storage compartment under passenger seat.
• CA registered 1946 license plate.
• Runs and drives great. Gauges work, lights works, hubs lock.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to see the car. The car is located in Whittier, CA and is listed for sale locally so we reserve the right to sell it prior to the auction ending. This is a used car sold as is and where is and as such there are no warranties expressed or implied. You are encouraged to inspect the car in person or hire a service prior to buying it. This was my Dad’s car and he passed away so I am only telling you the information to the best of my knowledge.”

It runs.
“I have a 47 Willys Jeep. It is rough and beat up. No title. Old ranchers lost it years ago. I have had it for 3 years. The ranchers had it 45 years. It has a newer overhead valve jeep engine in it. It will run if you can get it started. I think the starter is finally caput! No idea what fuel tank they put in the back is out of and I made a milk crate seat. Last time I was able to start it the engine purrs like a kitten. Fwd works. For some reason there is something cool about it. I call it, Drivable yard art! CASH ONLY! I WILL NOT RESPOND TO TEXT!”

Has potential, but why does a seller at the very least not buy a $5 tarp to cover a vehicle they think is worth $10,000 ?
“1949 willys jeep. Runs good. Asking $10,000 or best offer.”

UPDATE: Still Available.
This seller’s grandfather started the Seattle Belly Panner’s Jeep Club in Washington. I don’t know the history of the club, but I’d be hard pressed to believe it was started prior to the Yakima Ridgerunners (known for being the first incorporated club in the US). That said, by the early 1970s the club was down to only three members (none of which had a CJ-2A) so this could well be a pretty early club.
