“I have for sale a 1947 CJ2A, Vin 201566. I have many spare parts to go along with the vehicle. I was going to restore it, but my vw vanagon blew a headgasket when my wife and I were heading to Kansas City. Needless to say, the vanagon needs a new engine not including the labor involved. The 47 body wise is in good shape. There are a few spots here and there. I have owned it for a couple of years and it runs excellent. I have a complete brand new suspension kit for it. (10/25/2016) It’s listed as a 1948, but it appears to have a VEC 2A body.

“Selling my 1947 willys cj. runs and drives but will need work to drive on a regular basis. needs tires and a battery. brakes work but leak after sitting for a long period. fuel tank has a small drip. steering has some play, gearbox has been rebuilt but the pivot point in front has some play. call, text or email and I will answer questions as I can.”

Looks in good shape.

“Complete restoration. This is the first year of the civilian model. Jeep restoration was completed in 2009 has been in storage for the majority of the time since.

Original engine. Engine was in storage for 50+ years prior to installation with roughly 300 miles at the time of purchase; when Jeep was built the engine was cleaned and optimized. Body was acid washed before painting. Includes: OEM parts, Tow hitch, rear bumperettes, Fog lights, leather seats, passenger side tool/storage compartment under seat, and removable canvas top with detachable plastic windows (not pictured yet).

Original CJ2A manual included and numerous records available for parts, construction, and contacts. Two sets of keys.

Brakes cleaned, lines drained, front brakes replaced, new master cylinder installed, new battery [12V conversion], and new carburetor (2017).

No title in New York State for cars pre-1973; but does have transferable registration which constitutes ownership.

583 original miles (~300 prior to restoration, 283 post restoration)”

I wonder if that Big Block is hooked to a T-90?

“1947 Jeep CJ-2A, original PTO winch, 401 Big Block, Flowmaster dual exhaust, full roll cage, aluminum Arctic Top, new starter solenoid, rebuilt starter, military front end, custom gas tank, brake rebuild (hard/soft lines, pads, etc), POR-15 interior coating, stock wheels on it now, also set of 31″ (non-matching). Jeep has collector plates ($200 value), never register again. Clean title. Driver door included, just not shown in photo.”
