Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “lling a 1946 Jeep Willys. Has been converted to a Ford 302 engine which runs great. Vehicle has clean title, solid original body and drivetrain. This has a 3 speed manual transmission. The top and roll bar are in excellent condition for their age. There is a tow bar in the front for dragging jeep behind a vehicle with a 2″ ball. Licensed as collector. Runs and drives. Bought for restoration project but no longer have the time to work on it.”
Not clear how much value is here.
“Willys flat fender CJ2A jeep. Great potential as a rat rod sand car or restore. Even surface rust with slight body damage. Has a Buick 215 cu.in. four Bbl aluminum V8, not running, with cast iron bell housing mated to a jeep three speed transmission and transfer case, steering components, front and rear axles, and straight frame.”

(04/09/2017) Inclues a hardtop and a PTO. Needs some bumper work.
“Running 1948 CJ2A. There is a dent if the front bumper and the frame horns should be replaced. Frame itself is straight and solid. Body is in decent shape but the floorboards are rusted in the normal places. Brakes work and have been rebuilt with new drums, cylinders, and lines. Frame and body ID tags are still attached and the jeep has a clean MN title that matches the tags.
Also has a hard top with doors, snowplow bracket, and an additional bracket coming off of the rear bumper. Would consider selling these separately.“

Seth spotted this highly modified CJ-2A at Bring-a-trailer.
“This 1946 Jeep CJ2A is a modified example powered by a 454ci V8 backed by an automatic transmission. The build was completed around 2013 by a previous owner, and 14 miles have been driven since. A provided appraisal report details further modifications, include new wiring, instruments, and upholstery. Added off-road equipment includes Warn lockout hubs, Rancho shocks, and a transmission oil cooler. This custom Jeep CJ2A is being sold through a dealer with a clear Colorado title.”
Has a few updates.
