This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Hello I have a 1946 Willy’s CJ2A Jeep for sale. It was purchased as a project. It still needs some work. 12v system 3 speed transmission with overdrive unit (6 speeds total) twin stick 4 wheel drive. New tires rebuilt flathead, needs to be finished up in the engine bay. Interior has new seats, new gas tank, other misc new parts all mainly in the interior.”

This has an aftermarket heater which works awesome. Has the original drivetrain it, the flathead 4 cylinder, etc. The only issue right now is it has an oil pan leak but is very useable as is…..this is not being sold as an original jeep as it has some aftermarket sheet metal. Comes with a back seat and seat belts for 4. This gets a lot of attention every trip out.”l

“1947 Willys CJ2A. This is a complete Jeep – some assembly required! I started on this project about 10 years ago with a decent unmolested barn find jeep. (The last inspection sticker on the jeep was 1965 so it believe it had been sitting in the barn for that long) It was disassembled and sandblasted. The original body has been professionally repaired and is ready for paint. The body and tailgate numbers match. The frame is nice, front horns are good, with the original gussets. The engine is correct however it has been disassembled for a rebuild. (New Pistons, valves, springs, gaskets included) Fenders, hood, grille, windshield frame, seat frames have been blasted, primed with DP90 and are all in good condition.
If you are looking to do a correct restoration on a CJ2A, this is the jeep for you to start with. If you just want an old willys that looks like an “army jeep” then you should look elsewhere. A reproduction body kit runs about $3700. For another $1000, you can get a correct ORIGINAL body kit with a clean PA title and the rest of the jeep. I will add pictures as I dig the rest of the stuff out of the barn. I will start with Craigslist and if it doesn’t sell then I will move to ebay. Serious inquiries and phone calls only please… (emails and bs texts will be ignored)”

(01/25/2017) Looks in good shape, but it isn’t as stock as seller suggests. (rear lights, front parking lights. no engine gutter, different steering wheel, seats, swing brakes, ….)
